    • Taylor Swift's New Song Sounds Like Avril Lavigne - Critics

      Yesterday, country-pop star Taylor Swift debuted her new single off of her upcoming fourth album. The song is called "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". The critics, her fans and even some of our Bandaiders noticed the similarities between the song and some of Avril Lavigne's work. It's hardly surprising since Taylor collaborated with producers Max Martin and Shellback for this song, both of who significantly contributed to Goodbye Lullaby. Entertainment Weekly noted how the song sounds like "a brighter, more-polished Avril Lavigne tune, with an undeniable, instantly catchy hook".Several other popular websites like Zap2it.com, NewNowText, popheart.com and numerous others have gone on to say the song easily sounds a lot like something Avril would do.         I'm sorry, but I absolutely don't get it. It has no Avril vibe at all. She doesn't sound like Avril, and the song is not similar to any of Avrils song. It's pop-country. Avril has always been rock-pop. There might be a few songs that haven't been released, where she had some countrylike influences, but... this song is so not Avril.

        I personally love both artists but this song really does have an avril vibe.. sounds llke the best damn thing era to me.

        The song doesn't sound like Avril's song. However the first couple seconds is sound a bit like one of Av's song

        Taylor's voice reminds me of Avril's voice on 'Let go' era but I don't think that the song is like 'Complicated'... it's my opinion.

        Taylor is no Avril but the song does have a slight Avril vibe to it, kinda reminds me of Let Go wit a lot more spunk to it.

        It doesn't sounds like Avril, you can hear Taylor's style. She changed here genre in this song..but it doesn't sounds like Avril..

        Ughhh.. Avril related news please.. It doesn't sound like an Avril song, Avril "sings" in her songs and they have strong and catchy melodies, this is more like a rap, or someone telling a story, and how mature this song sounds like ever ever,,

        It does't really sound like an Avril but it somewhat sound like her back in her Let Go days.

        Yeah, it sounds a lot like complicated in the begining - it builds to the chorus and then the chorus is more of an anthem for young girls. Which is interesting this is the stuff that bugs me when producers ruin Avril and make her sing these same songs. bleh!

        It does sound very Avril, especially the first lines of the song. The chorus - not so much. However Taylor is definitely going more pop than she's ever been... This is probably the least country song I've heard her produce! Definitely inspired by our Av!

        Well, i think that this song is similar at the songs of Goodbye Lullaby, also the video of the song "You belong with me" of Taylor, it's similar at the video of "Girlfriend".
        But nobody can be like Avril, 'cause she is unique♥

        I don't think it sounds like Avril, Avril is more vibrant, and power! Taylor is more naive, and it's music sound more like teenager Tv series.
        Also, Avril is unique, no music could be like hers.
