The record is a huge department from their older stuff, a bit too much of a departure.. I understand you wanna try out new stuff, and the nu metal sound has indeed faded off.

It seems the new direction they went in is being laidback, and those are the ballads, i like that they have ballads cause they didn't realy have them in the past albums. But there are too many ballads and it slows down the course of the record, and the record is already borderline-ish, i mean it's emotionaly packed. There could've been 2/3 ballads left off!

The record is just filled with fillers.

I personally like "Given Up", "Shadow Of The Day" (just beautiful), "Leave Out All The Rest" and "In Pieces" only those realy stand out.

"Bleed It Out" is kinda funny, i don't know it reminds me of guys getting wasted in a bar and jamming and acting crazy.

"No More Sorrow" is just bad.
I expected a lot of "Valentine's Day" but it was a disapointment to say the least. Just weird arrangements.

"In Between" is SO Snow Patrol.

I'm sure they'll sell with this record but it could've been better. The iTunes bonus-tracks will probably be less filler, you'll see.
