Have any of you guys heard of the upcoming flick 'Cloverfield?' Fans of LOST (JJ Abrams is the exec producer) might have...but it just looks so exciting, it has one of the weirdest advertising campaigns I've witnessed since Blair Witch. The title of the movie was originally known as its release date 1-18-08 before Cloverfield was officially announced a month or so ago. The movie has a worldwise release of January 18.
What makes it so fascinating is that everything is so tightlipped about what the movie is about, the actors and people working on the film are signed to confidentiality agreements to Paramount pictures. All we know is that it is about a monster that attacks New York City, and a guy is documenting the disaster on his hand held camera.
Cloverfield is being marketed by a drink called Slusho! The ads for Slusho are sooooo odd.
Heres the only Synopsis:
"Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives."
HEROES fans also might have noticed the appearance of 'Slusho' in a few episodes, Elle (Kristen Bell) drinks it in both Cautionary Tales and Truth and Consequences. People have been saying it is being cross promoted because Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman) has a minor role, others wonder whether Heroes will have a Cloverfield-like crossover in its next volume.
No one knows what Slusho is or does, but apparently has some significance to Cloverfield. The most significant information with Slusho is its tagline ""You Can't Drink Just Six". We have no idea what this supposedly means...

Check out this HEROES blog by Director, Greg Beeman, in it there is various pictures of the HEROES cast holding Slushos, Beeman states:
"Now, the next group of photos falls into the “don’t ask/don’t tell” category. I credit Greg Yaitanes for staging all these pix, under the supervision of Joe Pokaski. Their cultural significance will become clear in the coming months, so… pay attention!"
