Hollywood workers urge strike end

Florists, caterers and dry cleaners joined the march

Hundreds of film and television production workers have marched through Hollywood to urge an end to the writers' strike, now in its fifth week.
About 500 people, who are not on strike themselves but have lost work or business because of the dispute, joined the Strike a Deal march.
The rally was to "put a face on the thousands of us adversely affected by the current strike", organisers said.
Writers have been on strike since 5 November in the dispute over pay.
Dozens of workers from shows where production has stopped including Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives and The Office were joined by representatives from floral, catering and cleaning small businesses that work closely with studios.

TELEVISION STRIKE CASUALTIES
Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy - one episode remaining
All three CSI series, Without A Trace, 30 Rock - two episodes remaining
Ugly Betty - three episodes remaining
Heroes, The Office, How I Met Your Mother - ended
24 - postponed indefinitely

Christopher Griffin, one of the organisers of the rally, urged both sides in the dispute to reach an agreement.
"Lock yourselves in a room, throw away the key," he said. "Stay there until a settlement is reached. All of our lives and our livelihoods hang in the balance."
Talks between the Writers Guild of America and producers broke off last week in the dispute over royalty payments.
Meanwhile, television executives are starting to feel the full effect of the strike as episodes of popular shows begin to run out.
Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy have only one show left to air, while Heroes and The Office have already ended.
Broadcasters are preparing to begin the new year season with a series of reality shows and repeats.

Its not looking like its getting resolved anytime soon...
