Yeah, I agree that they don't do much for Losing Grip but on other songs I think they add a lot of vitality and life to the performance. More importantly, I like the effect they have on Avril's own live presence. I think with them on stage Avril feels more comfortable and confident in a sense. She seems more free and mobile on the stage to me.
And the fact that she's willing to try new things is a big plus; in her earlier career she stuck with the simple stage set-up and the minimalist approach as a philosophy. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but I think the main message that Avril's delivering right now is this idea of not limiting yourself. As far as I'm concerned, adding the dancers to her show is just another expression of that outlook.
