Okay, so sorry guys! This time it seriously wasn't my fault! Seriously! I finished the update awhile ago but I was on vacation somewhere with no internet! *twitch, twitch* And when I came home yesterday I kept getting a database error!

It broke my heart not to be able to get back to you guys ASAP!
But I'm back now. And I got the update.

“This is
awesome!” I yelled as I shot the puck into the goal and pumped my fist in the air. “
Yes!” Evan had failed to guard the goal.
My older brother skater up to me. “I’m glad you’re enjoying your party, Av.” I smiled and gave my brother the best hug I could while we were both wearing hockey gear.
“Of course I’m enjoying it. You’re the best big brother ever.” Matt smiled and patted me on the back.
I was having a blast at the eighteenth birthday party my family and friends had arranged for me. I had met up with my family in New York City, and they had taken me, my band, and some of my best friends to play a hockey game.
In the end, my band, brother and me beat my friends. I was overjoyed when I saw that my mother had gotten a cake for me.
“You’re so lucky,” grinned my friend Sophie. “This is the coolest party ever.”
“Damned right!” I blew out the candles. I was having so much fun that I had almost forgotten the rest of my troubles.
My mom and I sat down in a corner together to eat and talk. “Avril, how’s everything going with that boy you told me about?” she asked.
Way to get right to the point...and ruin my mood.
“I haven’t talked to him. I didn’t get his number.” All of a sudden, I felt like crying. I noticed disappointment cross my mom’s face.
She reached out and hugged me. “Avril, you have to wait for him. You deserve him to come after you.”
“But he hasn’t.” I sniffled. “I guess he doesn’t like me.”
“You can be happy with someone else, then.” I burst into sobs on my mother’s shoulder. I felt like such a kid, but I couldn’t control it.
“No, I can’t, Mom,” I whimpered. “I need to have him. I can never be happy without Deryck.”

Okay, yes, this was pathetically short...sorry. I never notice how short my updates are because they look a lot longer in the word processor.
