Well, I think school makes a lot of people don't like to read... they just make us read the most annoying/boring books ever!

I'll suggest you some:

If you like romantic comedy: Meg Cabot, Sophie Kinsella and Sarah Mason - I love all the books I read write by them.
If you like drama: Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts, Marc Levy.
