I won the online contest from Tiger Beat and Bop Magazine.
March 30th was an amazing night because I met Avril Lavigne. I was so excited all weekend. I made Avril a scrapbook and couldn't wait to give it to her. On the way to the arena I was so excited. My mom took me to the will call window to pick up the tickets and then we had to go back outside to wait in line because we were too early. It was freezing while I waited, but I was to excited to be cold. I talked to some of the other people waiting in line and I asked them if they won a contest to meet Avril, but they all bought the tickets. I was the only contest winner. They finally let us in at 6pm.
We went to a VIP room to have snacks. They had a raffle of Avril prizes, but I didn't win anything. Then they took some people who weren't going to meet Avril backstage and to their seats. That whole time I was so excited to meet Avril. At 7pm, the person came to get us to go backstage and to meet Avril. We went through the arena in the special people area. They took us into this hallway and we waited there for 30 minutes. I was the last person to meet her because I was supposed to have extra time since I won the contest.
I walked into the room where Avril was and I was so shocked that I forgot everything I was going to say to her. I was just like wow thats Arvril right there and I will be able to talk to her. I was wearing pants with a piano design on it and she liked my pants! I couldn't believe I was finally meeting the person who I've listened to for 6 years. I gave her the scrapbook and she looked at it. I think she liked it. Then she signed my backstage pass. I got a picture with her and another one with her and my mom. I told Avril how my mom drives me to all her concerts, but I forgot to tell Avril my name. It was so amazing and went by so fast.
After the meet and greet the security guard took us to our seats. My mom was going to go to the seat instead of the floor, but she didn't. I had a front row standing spot. It was in the special VIP front! I was so excited! Avril finally came on stage and opened with the song "Girlfriend". She was so excited and the dancers were really good. She did a few acoustic songs and she sang so well. She played the piano for "When Your Gone" but I couldn't see her because I was so close to the stage the piano was blocking her. When she sang "I always get what I want" she came off the stage into the front row and touched my hand. I screamed so loud during that song. Her last song was "Sk8er Boi" and it was really good. I've seen her perform that song a lot and this was my favorite time. I was so sad the concert was over, but I wanted to get home and go to sleep because I was so tired and had school the next day. I will always remember that night because it was awesome!
The only bad things were that I didn't get a t-shirt because I was in line the whole time.
I didnt see the opening act Boys Like Girls.
Avril didnt have anything for her to sign to give out. I had the backstage pass and always bring index cards with me to concerts cause I never know who I could meet. I thought there could be a chance Id meet Boys Like Girls. If I knew Avril didnt have anything for her to give out I woulda brought a poster.
