Updaatttteee... :P
After 56 attempts of calling of Faye, I gave up. I sat alone in our bedroom, I felt no need for light, it would only illuminate unwanted memories. My mind still wouldn’t let me through the barrier holding me back from what would let me know why Faye walked out the door that night. I had to know. We’d been fighting all afternoon, and evening. It all began when Abigail sat us down to talk, “Mom, Dad, I have something I need to tell you guys. You’ll probably want to sit down…” Both I and Faye were worried about what Abi’ was going to tell us, we just hoped she wasn’t pregnant. But still, me being me I couldn’t help but blurt it out, “ARE YOU PREGNANT?!” I said it with a grin. She replied with a smile, “No dad…” She then took a deep breath and before we could say anything else, she told us the news. “I’m a lesbian! Hahaha.” She burst out laughing after she told us, probably to hide her fear of our reaction. I was happy for her, but Faye wasn’t agreeing with me so much...
“What?! Are you kidding? That laugh better be ‘cause you’re messing with us.” I looked at her in disgust, and she screamed at Abigail,
“You’re grounded!” I then shouted at Faye without even thinking,
“What are you doing?!” She looked at me in confusion, as Abigail ran upstairs in tears.
“She just told us she’s a lesbian! She’s GAY! What are we going to do Chris?” She hugged me as if upset or something, I pushed her away and looked at her face to face,
“We’re going to do nothing. Just except it. What’s your problem? You’ve never been like this before…” She looked at me as if I was speaking a different language, she started screeching so loud I could almost feel the vibrations on my face!
“You what?! You just want me to except that our daughter loves women?! No way! It’s fucking disgusting Chris! They’re gunna be touching each other and… licking each other! Eww! That’s so wrong! How can you just let her get away with this?!” I gave her a look as if to show her’ hypocrisy,
“And the things I do to you aren’t disgusting? It doesn’t make any difference Faye; they’re just two girls instead of one being male. But why are you talking about “them”, she didn’t say she has a girlfriend, although she probably would have gotten round to that if you had let her finish. Just leave it yeah? Get over it.” Faye then turned on me,
“Why don’t you love me?” I looked at her in confusion, again, and gave her the sort of ‘raised-up-eye-brow-look’,
“One second you’re bothered about Abigail being a lesbian, now I don’t love you? What the fuck. I do love you, more than anything. What makes you think I don’t?!” My voice got louder and higher pitched as I reached the end of speaking,
“You love Avril more than you love me.” I was so shocked at this that my eyes almost popped out theirs sockets; I couldn’t believe that my wife had doubts about how much I love her.
“Faye you have to stop this me-loving-Avril-more-than-you thing. You’ve thought about it way too much, and you’ve got it all wrong. Of course I don’t love her more than I love you. Can you just please stop going on about it?” I was bored of Faye going on about this, so I couldn’t help but be blunt and monotone with my voice whilst speaking to her now.
She said nothing, grabbed her stuff, and left.
