Avril, Deryck, and the kids stayed until after dinner. When they left, the house was very quiet. The others had left before dinner that evening. It was just Chris, the kids, and me. “Wow, I don’t think I have heard silence in the past few days.” Chris smiled down at me. “I know, sounds nice, doesn’t it?” I nodded and relaxed into the chair a little more. At about ten o’clock I took the kids all to bed.

Two days later Avril was over at the house. Deryck and Chris were out together, for some quiet. Avril and I were watching Oprah, when there was a knock on the door. I got up and answered it. I smiled when I saw Evan and Sinead. I let them both in and invited them into the living room. “What’s up guys?” We were all sitting down now. Evan smiled and looked at me. Then he looked at Avril. “Well, we have some news.” He was quiet for a second to let the suspense well up.
