‘Av! Did you lock the front door?’ bellowed Shannon; Avril’s housemate of 3 months.
‘What? I can’t hear you!’ Avril shouted from the bathroom.
‘Urghh, nevermind I’ll go check’
‘Huh?!’ yelled Avril.
‘I said I’ll go check!’
‘Okay whatever you’re saying!’
Shannon ambled to the front door of the two-bedroom diminutive apartment. She turned the metal knob and opened the door. Avril’s keys were hanging generously on the other side of the knob. Shannon shook her head and pulled out the keys. She locked the door and stormed to the bathroom.
‘Av!’ she yelled at the bathroom door.
‘Yeah?’
‘You left the keys outside again!’
‘I did? Oh shit. I’m sorry Shan!’
‘You’re gonna get us abducted someday’ said Shannon.
She could hear giggles coming from the bathroom.
‘This ain’t funny Av’
‘I know, I know sorry’ said Avril.
‘Are you done? I need to pee’
‘Almost done!’
‘Hurry!’
‘Okay okay! Gosh Shan’
Avril stepped out of the bathroom tied in a pink bath robe.
‘Finally!’ cried Shannon.
‘What’s cooking?’ asked Avril.
‘Spaghetti and some chicken’
‘Someday you’re gonna have to learn to close and lock the bathroom door when you’re doing your business’ said Avril.
‘Pshhh’ hissed Shannon.
‘Who knows I might find a cute guy and bring him in here’
‘Then bless him if he’s lucky enough to see my shiny California ass’ said Shannon with a boisterous laugh.
Avril chuckled and said, ‘You’re disgusting’
‘Can’t help it honey’
