According to internet whispers, Avril Lavigne will be starring as Clarisse McClellan in the 2010 movie release of the Ray Bradbury novel Fahrenheit 451! The role of Clarisse certainly fits with Avril's description that her next film role would be "something you wouldn't expect from me, something deep and dark." For those unfamiliar with the novel, Fahrenheit 451 takes place in a dystopian future where it's fireman Guy Montag's job to burn all remaning books. Aftfer meeting Clarisse, Guy begins to question what he's doing and rebel against his society. The screenplay was written by three-time Oscar nominee Frank Darabont who also wrote the screenplays for The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Mist.
