Ashlee’s Mommy Tummy Worries
We can’t help but feel sorry for mom-to-be, Ashlee Simpson, as she struggles with the hardest part of pop star pregnancy – weight gain. Working out six days a week with sister Jessica Simpson’s ex-trainer, Mike Alexander, the pop princess is desperate not to let a healthy, growing baby transform her into the newest biggest loser. Having already gained 20 pounds in four months, Ashlee Simpson is ready to bite her baby belly in the bud before her sexy summer sundresses start resembling couture circus tents.

Not that she’s receiving pressure to stay thin from husband Pete Wentz, who is said to be loving Ashlee’s new curves. A close family friend told Star Magazine that Pete Wentz “constantly reassures her that she looks fabulous” and “especially loves her growing bust”.

Wow, what a sweet talker! Unfortunately, it’s going to take more than clever cleavage compliments to convince Ashlee Simpson to let it all hang out, and give up on her strict regimen of low-impact exercises like stationary bike riding, and Pilates.

The family friend goes on to tell Star Magazine that Ashlee’s outlook on her baby bump is just plain unrealistic, saying “She’s still clinging to the hope that she can limit her total weight gain to no more than 30 to 35 pounds”. Already 4 months along, and 20 pounds heavier, Ashlee will have to cut out the cravings and step up her already strenuous exercise regiment if she hopes to keep her weight gain over the next 5 months down to a meager 15 pounds!

Ashlee, we here at Actress Archives are siding with Pete Wentz on this one. Babies are heavy, and require nutrients. Deal with it. Nobody is going to judge you if you suddenly gain a few baby-shaped pounds around your midsection. So why not enjoy it? Don’t get us wrong, healthy bodies are never a bad thing, just so long as they don’t get in the way of those timeless pregnancy perks every woman is entitled to: deep fried Oreos, and chocolate-covered pickles..or in Ashlee Simpson’s case, her personal craving, green olives.
