Did Katy Perry Write "I Kissed A Girl"?

Katy Perry is everywhere these days isn't she? Ever since a certain someone began singing her praises, her current career has skyrocketed to the moon. And while her previous attempts (think Christian gospel music) never hit it big,
I Kissed a Girl was exactly what she needed to finally break through.
Recently, Katy confessed that she wrote "I Kissed a Girl" thinking about
Scarlett Johansson.
"I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, 'I’m not going to lie: If Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her. I hope you’re okay with that?'"
However,
Holy Moly pointed out that
Dr Luke, Max Martin and
Cathy Dennis were the original writers of the song and Katy came in after it was created to add some of her flavor. I can't imagine the song originally being about going to the mall with friends and then after Katy it became about kissing a member of the same sex?
So did Katy "write" I Kissed a Girl as she claims while thinking of Scar Jo? Or was that statement just a neat little way to get more press as Scarlett is known for being one of our sexiest celebs?
