Avril Lavigne is tossing aside her snarky, kiss-off tunes in favor of more playful love songs. The newlywed told
MTV that she's written 15 rock-infused ditties for her forthcoming album, which is nearing completion.

Among the collaborators on the new effort are her husband and fellow Canadian,
Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, Rob Cavallo (
Green Day) and previous co-teamer
Butch Walker. "I've got to say, this record is going to be so much fun. It's really upbeat. I have a few love songs -- it's so funny," she said. "Of course, I still have my boy-bashing songs, but they're very playful. So the record is really fun and cool and different, and honestly, I think it's my best record yet. I can say that with confidence."
Meanwhile, Lavigne has also dipped her hand in the acting cookie jar. She makes her big-screen debut in 'Fast Food Nation,' playing a college gal interested in exposing the politics behind the fast food industry. The film hits theaters in November.
