Avril Lavigne - Magazines List For 2008.

Hi, Here is a list of magazines that Avril Lavigne has featured in so far in 2008.

The NEWS section wont let me post so I didnt know where else to post, if you dont want this thread then please just delete it.

THE BORING PART SKIP DOWN TO THE NEXT POST.

The list is created by me from searching through each magazine in various stores accross London, England. It takes around 10 to 14 hours to get to London, search each store, flip each magazine and a lot of money to travel, eat, drink and of course BUY the issues that I do get. It then takes HOURS and HOURs more to type the lists out and re-check the magazines that I got that was SEALED and thus couldn't be checked BEFORE buying them.

This list is 100% accurate to the magazines that I check each week. (except for the info listed below).

But it does NOT contain EVERY MAGAZINE that is sold in London, or every magazine that is sold in the WORLD!! if they don't come to London I cant check them

I DO NOT CHECK Mens Magazines, or EVERY Womans Magazine, Mens Mags are gross, and Womens magazines don't always feature a lot that is worth checking, the cover celeb is mainly what they print on and the only ther celebs inside are usually for fashion reviews or something similar, at least 70% of womens and fashion magazines like Cosmopolitan are sealed, as they come with free gifts, most of them are the same repeated crap too. I also don't check Car magazines, PC magazines or Sports ones, they are all less likely to have Singers and actresses/actors in them.

So I stick to the Gossip Magazines, Teen Magazines, Music and Movie Magazines and a few others that do feature various celebrities from time to time.

The only a few other points to make and they are :

1, IF the magazine wasn't found, then of course I couldn't check it, I do try other stores if the 1st, 2nd etc are sold out, but sometimes Issues do sell out in all stores or sometimes they just didn't get IN STOCK on the day I was shopping. I can't afford to go back multiple times to London.

And 2, If it lists them (A Celebrity) as "IN IT" below, then they was "IN IT" with a picture for some reason or other, no matter how small the picture or how big the article, if they was IN IT then it is listed. I used to write down NAME MENTIONS, but that takes too much time and most fans just wants pictures anyhow.

For the ones I have bought, someday I hope to get the scans uploaded and posted for everyone who is interested, but as my PC is crap and my connection is 56k PAY PER MINUTE, and with all the costs involved in doing this list and buying the magazines, I can't afford to upload everything too as my current internet bill for up to Janaury 2008 is approx $178.

I do plan on STOPPING buying magazines this year, maybe at the end of February 2008 and if I do I don't know if I will continue making lists as the shops do only allow me to stay in there so long searching as they know I do buy so many from them, and if I stop buying then of course I won't be able to spend hours being in there, and I wont want to either. :/

FINAL NOTES : Magazines from Europe, The USA and other countries usually take LONGER to get here than when they was released IN those countries, so when they are out in London they should have left the stores in those countries already. For Australia it can be up to 3 months AFTER they was published there, and for the USA, they could be from a few days to a month or more, depending on the TYPE of magazine AND the store that sells it. For example US Weekly it may be the first issue of the year, but it might not be in London until day 6 or day 14 or 20 depending ON THE STORE, Borders Usually gets things in FASTER, but then they COST MORE, and other stores might get theirs in a week or two LATER and they cost LESS, with People Weekly it is the same but the prices are REVERESED, For example AGAIN, Us Weekly in Borders is 3.25, 3.99 in VM and 2.50 in other stores, and PW is 3.25 in Borders and 4.50 in other stores. Basically "It pays to shop around". Thus why it takes so long to do the list, and if I don't buy an issue in the first store and the other stores don't have it, then I have to GO back to the store that DID!, For magazines like USA Cosmopolitan you can pay anywhere from 3.00 to 4.70 for the SAME ISSUE! So you are not just saving a few pennies, it really adds up. There are some stores and places that hold magazines for even longer, and you can find stores that have MULTIPLE DIFFERENT Issues of the same magazine on the stands.

Making this list is very hard to do, and it causes me a lot of pain, but I am bored and it passes a lot of time and whilst I ams till collecting magazines, I may as well do it. If I do stop collecting, I will make a final post and say that I wont be updating anymore and if for some reason I can't update during the week that I shop then I will try and back date assuming I havent already said I am stopping collecting lol.

PHEW! That was long, and everyone is probably bored and 99% of people won't even care or want this list anyways, so I could be wasting my time by writing it up for this forum other than the ones I have been doing it on for years.

The thing is NOT every magazine comes to the UK and those that do, NOT EVERYONE gets scanned or posted! Some scans only go on some sites and some forums, and some magazines don't seem to ever get scanned at all!

THE MAIN THING IS, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT IT IS OUT!!!, THEN NO ONE CAN GO BUY IT TO SCAN IT!!

You all know when she is on the cover, but you can't always know of hundreds of other issues she may be featured inside of! And not all cover magazines are the best! Some magazines don't even list some celebs on the cover and they might have anywhere from a 1/4 of a page through to 12 pages inside on them! You just don't know!, so with this list I hope that for the people that DO COLLECT and do BUY magzines and DO scan, that they will now know of other issues that are out there and thus maybe try and buy them and scan them, after all I can't buy them all, and those that I have 90% I have never managed to get scanned as the whole process takes too long with my PC and 56k. :/ It takes around 10 hours to scan 1 magazine as I do it ALL as I post on LOADS of forums, and thats BEFORE editing and BEFORE uploading.

Anyways, I have written way too much as I am afraid if I don't explain as much as possible that I may get dissed and things. And this is hard enough to do without being dissed and as I cant post the scans and really THATS ALL PEOPLE WANT, but as said I simply cannot afford to buy everything, I don't buy everything that features Avril or even HD, and I can't scan everything on this crappy equipement.

In the meantime, I hope people will appreciate the list and knowing that there are quite a lot more magazines out there featuring Avril and many other celebrities that you maybe not have or didn't yet know about.

Hi, Here is the list of Magazines for the date of the 1st of January 2008 to the 07th of January 2008.

(WEEK 01)

AGAIN to scale down what is writtne above, if it is listed below then a PICTURE of Avril was IN that issue for whatever reason, whether that be a small picture, a poster, an Interview, or even just an advert by some company or other, if there is a PICTURE, then I list it, and if it was a NAME MENTION then I put (NM) next to it. But not all (NM)'s do I list as they take too long.

ERRORS as IN I MISSED someone can get in!! Sometimes I go through the magazines faster or I just BUY THEM and don't check immediately so sometimes I can have magazines that feature someone and I don't know about it until the day I get around to opening it and finding out. And that can take a long time!

Magazines Dated 2008 that was on sale last year have NOT been listed as they are part of the listings I do for that year, and re-posting can get confusing, although I might add them in afterwards when I go back through that list.

I WILL ONLY LIST THE ISSUES THAT FEATURE AVRIL, It would be a waste of time to post EVERYTHING when this is an AVRIL Forum.

I did not go to London for this week as I was attacked on New Years Day 2008 whilst stopping a 60 year old lady in a store from being robbed and I spent 6 hours being x-rayed etc and so I didn't manage to get to London that week. I only suffered injuries to my hand and some bruises and the lady is ok, she left her job now though as it's happened before.

I did however get to Tesco a few days later on Friday the 04th Janaury 2008 to check the UK magazines.

Hi, Yes! There are updates!, But as I went offline in February 2008 I stopped doing them on here, I did manage to update on 2 other forums, so I guess I can do the updates for here if you want?

Erm there might be a small gap here and there though! With the USA Teen mags I DON'T OPEN THEM, (And some other mags like SEALED ONES), I just BUY THEM as it takes HOURS AND HOURS to search magazines in all the shops that I go into, when I KNOW I am just going to BUY SOMETHING ANYWAY, I DON'T Bother searching it IN STORE. (its a waste of time when I can then get searching others and GET OUT THE STORE as it does take ages and it does hurt to search them)

But I sadly NEVER got around to OPENING them later for various reasons, SO on the other forums I added those magazines to the lists stating that they are UNOPENED, meaning I DIDNT OPEN THEM so I DONT KNOW if so and so was in them. JUST THEY MIGHT BE.

The plan was, that when I eventually get arouns to GOING BACK into the ones I bought I would then come back and EDIT the lists and post scans. But I can no longer do SCANS as I dont have access to a scanner, not even my 3 scanners. I CAN do PHOTOS though, and post them sometime, but ONLY for issues that are NOT IN STORAGE, my storage thing is about 30 miles away, I cant drive, and I cant go there anytime, so until I can do, they all just sit in them, I have another storage thing which I keep the issues that ive bought in the last 2 months approx, so I can re-do those MAYBE, I just dont know right now, everything is in the air for me I dont know whats happening.

As above would you want UNOPENED? or JUST accurate? As if I post UNOPENED Avril MIGHT NOT have been in them! But if I DONT post them and I find here in something that SHE WAS in its much harder to remeber when that came out!

Just because a mag says a certain date on the cover, it doesnt actually mean it came out THAT month you know? Like February 2009 Issues are out already! And they came out October 2008 so it will make the lisy inacurate in a different way. :/
