Hedley leads nominations for MuchMusic awards

On June 15, the red carpet will be rolled out for the 19th annual MuchMusic Video Awards.
Pop-punk hooligans Hedley lead the race with six nominations, including a nod for best video (For the Nights I Can't Remember). Ottawa "gangster rapper" and recent Juno winner Belly has five nominations off the strength of his video for Ridin. Also nominated in the best video category is recent Grammy contender Feist for her hit single 1234, ska band illScarlett for Nothing Special and pop punk band Simple Plan for When I'm Gone.
International superstars Avril Lavigne (When You're Gone) and Nelly Furtado (Do It) are in competition for Favourite Canadian Artist along with Feist (1234), Belly (Ridin) and City And Colour (Waiting). Canadian bands Billy Talent, Finger Eleven, Hedley, illScarlett and Simple Plan have been nominated in the Favourite Canadian Group category.
