AFTER cancelling a string of gigs earlier this month due to laryngitis, Avril Lavigne found her voice in Glasgow on the first date of her UK tour.
The Canadian singer began the first of her two sell-out gigs at the Carling Academy with an energetic set.
But, despite her best efforts, her performance fell short of expectations. It lasted only an hour and failed to include all 20 tracks performed at her home shows.
The predominantly teenage crowd didn't seem to mind and screamed their appreciation.
But such a short show could hardly live up to the tour name, the Best Damn Tour.
Highlights included power ballads My Happy Ending, I'm With You and When You're Gone. But hit tracks such as Girlfriend and Sk8er Boi, performed to march-like dance routines, made Lavigne look uncomfortable

Whats going on why did she cut so much of the show ?
did she cut the piano and drum parts ? maybe if the venue was small thay couldn`t be included, or do you think its because avril is touring with the Jonas brothers , she might have to give them more time which means she gets less ?
Did anybody go ?

^ I remember she performed in one venue in North America and it had capacity about 2500 - 3000 people.Remember you asked me about capacity? And i asked 3 000 people i think. And it had all these show's things.And why she didn't it in Glasgow i don't know

I just hope it not because of the Jonas brothers, sometimes they do that if the support band is popular , they give more time to them and cut the time for the headliner , it becomes more like a co-headline tour . if that is the case it will be like this for every date with JB which would suck .
1 hour is a short concert

Maybe the LED's etc were not able to fit on the stage, to be fair if you look at the pics the stage is absoloutley tiny...I couldnt imagine a big LED screen fitting on the stage lol

It could be because coming off laryngitis she was saving her voice, probably could be expanded later, I very doubt it had anything to do with the opening act, also I heard the concert started a half hour late maybe that also might have something to do with it.

same here i dont even want to see then but basically got to get in the venue if i want some sort of decent place to stand.

she should never included jonass brothers, if she wants a good American support band atleast get someone like "Cute is what we aim for" i think there about right for Avril.

I payed to see Avril and if the show is like 1/2 Avril 1/2 gay band JB then i will be well pissed off.

Someone just said in another thread that it was cut short because of the curfew. They've got to abide by the law. Hopefully they know to start earlier for tonight's show and it'll get a better review
