At the age of 23, Avril Lavigne still has to don a skater outfit and pull a limited range of sullen expressions.

No wonder she’s got a stroppy reputation. The diva has never been known to bottle sunshine by the gallon but at the very least she could have pretended to have enjoyed herself.

Instead she radiated more attitude than Vicky Pollard in a face-off against Kevin and Perry.

But all the hits were present and correct. Debut single Complicated alongside Sk8er Boi and Girlfriend definitely got the biggest whoops. While the pint-sized star tinkled the ivories of a neon pink grand piano for When You’re Gone.

It may be a while before new tunes get a new airing. Backstage post gig Avril revealed to Playlist she’s planning to focus on “dark and deep” acting. How fitting.

It was contrived and sugar-coated all night long but it pleased the kids.

It was a fantastic gig!

She dedicated Im With You to the fns woh travelled through Ireland to see her, and she pointed right at Brian and I, and a few others, it was cool!

She also dedicated it to the fans who were there from the start! Was a cool experience! Defo worth the journey up north!

Hate Belfast, its reallya horrible city, the UK culture was evident up there, and it was horrible. The taxi drivers were rude, Mc Donalds was closed at 2.30 am (WTF!), and its just a bad atmosphere. Wont be going there in a hurry again

I found (and have always found) the Dublin crowds far more appreciative of Avril... I would infinitely prefer to go see her in Dublin rather than a couple of miles down the road (Belfart offers geographical convenience).
There is of course honourable exception, but the crowd at the 7th June show in my immediate area were nobs.

Yeah, Av isn't a junkie with a beehive hairdo, she's never pictured flashing her 'private area' on knickerless nights out and she's not some desperado from a reality show wearing next to nothing turning up at the opening of an envelope... she's hardly a media darling as far as the Daily Star ('Gospel' that it is) is concerned.
In saying all that, the reviewer is paid to give their opinion and whereas I strongly disagree with it, I will respect it for the nonsense that it is...
