Terry McBride, C.E.O. of Nettwerk (Avril's management firm), is taking a stand against the RIAA's practice of suing consumers who download music off the internet. After hearing about an RIAA suit launched against David Greubel for downloading, among other songs, Avril Lavigne's Sk8er Boi, McBride took action claiming the RIAA is not acting in his clients best interests. Nettwerk says they will pay for all the Greubel family's legal fees and if they lose the case, Nettwerk will also pay the ensuing fine. According to McBride, "Litigation is a deterrent to creativity and passion and it is hurting the business I love." Let's take this moment to join together in a collective, "Way to go Terry!"
