Hey Perez Hilton, Thanks... Seriously
If you've ever seen any of the coverage Perez Hilton gives to Avril, you'd know that he's not exactly the epitome of journalistic objectivity. He continued in that vein today by selectively highlighting three less-than-impressed reviews of the CD and then asserting that the CD got "No Love From The Critics." Rather than discuss this unfortunate attempt at an argument (I'm assuming there are traces of a butchered statistical syllogism in there somewhere...), I want to take this opportunity to thank Perez for his tradition of giving Avril the best publicity money can't buy. Avril had it bang on when she said, "People either love me or hate me... but that's why I'm successful." Try what you might, Perez, you can't ignore her - you can't be impartial. No one is going to decide not to buy the CD based on his review - all he's doing is further fuelling the "Lavigne Machine." Not all the critics might love the CD, but in pop when has that ever counted for anything? Avril's never been the critical favourite, but she's the queen of the charts and that's where it matters. LOL I once said some not so nice things on Perez's website about Avril being mean to autographers. I am like First of all she is nice, Second of all She doesn't sign for autograph seekers AKA Ebayers and third you are ugly. Why do you always make fun of Avril??
