Just shy of two months ago, I introduced a task to the members of Avril Bandaids. It was not to ask you to vote for Avril to win some award, or to make Girlfriend the most-viewed video on YouTube, or even to buy tickets to The Best Damn Tour. I simply asked you to open your minds and open your wallets for the Invisible Children of Northern Uganda. You listened. And you responded by donating
$2,793.95! When I set our goal of $1000, I never thought we would be able to reach it, but through this experience, I learned how big our member's hearts are. It amazed me to see Avril fans donating hundreds. I was even more astounded that members from all over the world were planning fundraisers to raise money for Invisible Children. I would like to give a Bandaids-style pat on the back and tap on the ass to all of our members who donated and learned about how they could help the children in Northern Uganda. I would also like to thank the staff at Invisible Children, especially Mel, for making this possible. As a tribute to your hard work, Avril Bandaids member Lewis has made a wonderful video of
Knocking on Heaven's Door Invisible Children-Style. You have to check this out. The money you have raised is going to change a lot of lives. Please stay tuned, because our fundraising efforts for Invisible Children will not stop here. It is my goal to get Avril and her management involved, and for us to impact even more lives. Invisible Children Website. If you would still like to donate, please don't hesitate to contact me. We are the never before
demanding the never again.
