Sharifa you Rock!!!! and thanx to this brilliant idea now everybody knows bandaids and the video of "Girlfriend" is really close to became the most watched video of all time!!!!!!!!!
I encourage you to read through YouTube's Terms of Services which quite plainly states that automated viewing scripts are allowed so long as they "access the Website in a manner that [does not] sends more request messages to the YouTube servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser." The views were legitimate as per YouTube's TOS and, as history impeccably dictates, had they not been legitimate views, YouTube would have already removed the offending views.
Unfortunately for you, by YouTube's own definition of a legitimate view, Bandaids did not cheat. If you have an issue with YouTube's definition of a legitimate view, I encourage you to take it up with them.
But what you seem incapable of understanding is that this campaign is far larger than YouTube. As I've only said a hundred times, the haters will always hate Avril - this business isn't about fighting to stay liked, it's about fighting to stay relevant. Thousands of well-liked artists are irrelevant and end up fading from the industry because they can't make sales when it counts. That's why, in the end, all publicity is good publicity. This campaign hasn't changed anyone's opinion about Avril. If you like her, you like her. If you don't, you don't. If Avril's fans using a Youtube viewer to gain 200 views per person changes your opinion of her, chances are you hav a slim grasp on reality.
While your continued regurgitations do aid in Bandaids' attempt to reach 3 million posts by the end of the summer, they are without merit. In the past 6 hours, Girlfriend has gained 40,000 views on EOD. So if you're still unwilling to admit the success of the campaign, I happen to have math on my side. And math doesn't lie.
Now that's something that's actually undeniable.
xx
That's a rather condescending way of putting it. I expected something a little less patronizing from a fan community that I'm a part of.
I honestly don't care if it complies with Youtube's TOS or not. In my views, it's not a very honest way of going about it, and it just disappoints me to see how commercial and superficial the Avril community has gotten. That's all I'm saying. I'm not trying to force you lot to take back and views you might of made.
I could keep on re-stating my opinion until someone finally decides to respect it, but judging by how silly things have gotten around here, I don't see a point. I didn't say that anyone had to agree with it, simply respect it. Apparently that's a difficult concept for people here to grasp.
All I know, is that this is the last time I'll ever be visiting this site.
So I assume you don't find American Idol or any other type of viewing and or voting system honest either? If that's the case than I guess in the end we are all superficial and commercial.... and you mind as well not watch a video that you like more than once on youtube because than it wouldn't be honest of you to do so, or if you do watch it more than once mind as well keep it to yourself and not share it with the fan community because than we'll definitely know that you've joined us in being commercial and superficial........

Without trying to sound patronizing, Avril is a commercial artist. UTube is a commercial business. Bandaids needs to be commercial in order to cover costs. Its pretty much a commercial world.
I can understand your opinion, that it would be nice if the video made the count on its own, but unfortunately that tends not to be the way things work. But rather than looking at this as "cheating" perhaps you should see it as us, the fans, been given a chance to make our voices heard, above and beyond what other fansites are doing.
After all UTube itself depends on people linking to it.
This is still fucking stupid.
Your still cheating.
No question.
It'd be worth more if the video got there itself
not if 10,000,000 obssesed fans clicked on it.
