I miss them too Oh well, we can't expect them to play with Avril forever (well, at least i didn't anyway). I'm just hoping that the guys will succeed in whatever they do.

You guys said all the things ive been dying to say!!
Wether Avril wants to accept it or not, she HAS become what she says she wouldn't. When it was her and the guys, everything was so real.
Now when I watch her, I feel like im watching some regular dumb pop wind-up doll! Thats why I mainly just watch and look at old Avril stuff...

I also prefer the old line-up.
Ever since Matt, Evan, and the original members left, I never really care about the band anymore.
Some of the dudes here made good points.
Yeah... these old guys may be not as talented as these new ones, but they're definitely much more interesting to be watched.
Besides... sometimes I feel like treating them as part of Avril's career. They're almost like members of a band called "Avril Lavigne".
As for now, the band members (and the dancers) are more like there because they have to play music (and dance) along with Avril.

I loved Avril`s old band so much. It didn't look like they would have a real concept for the "Try to shut me up" tour, of course she had some things she always said or did, but it looked like she was simply having fun and enjoying herself, her band and the show.
Now, with the costume changes (i hate that so much , i don't get the reason why you have to change your outfit about 3 times, for a live show which lasts a little bit over 1:30 ) and the dancers it's simply not as good as before. Besides Avril, I usually listen to a lot of (punk-) rockbands and I love the way they are jumping around and having fun on their live shows.
I started listening to Av when i was about 12 years old (funny to think back) and since then myself and my musical taste evolved and changed a lot.
I never was at an Avril concert and i always wanted to but now I'm at a point where I have to say that i probably won't go to her tour next year.
I think the dancers would annoy me so much that i couldn't even enjoy the faster songs.

I think there could be great musicians that would "fit her" better than her current bandmembers! They're great and all but it seems kinda odd... they seem more like "studiomusicians" than livemusicians to me if you get what I mean

I haven't seen avril and the the new band live and in person yet. I've just seen some live performances on tv and youtube. but I will say, they don't look like everyone is having as much fun as they used to when it was Avril, Evan, Jesse, Matt, and Charlie. That was the perfect combo if you asked me. I saw that combo in concert twice and they were the best concerts of my life. Then I saw Avril and Evan at the Mall Tour. Those two blow me away when they play acoustic sets. They are amazing. Then I saw a concert with Avril, Devin, Craig, Charlie, and Matt. It was a lot of fun too. Not as much fun as with Evan and Jesse, but I just have this huge thing for Evan, so I'm a little biased. lol. I just miss the whole "Avril and the Boys" kinda mentality. In her old interviews and stuff, that's what she always said. They were her boys, her best friends. I love watching the behind the scenes stuff when it was Avril and the guys just doing stupid shit together. But I will say again, I haven't seen the "new band" in person yet, so I won't judge. But I do miss the boys. Especially Evan and Matt....Especially Evan. lol.

It`s the same with the songwriting and stylists etc she doesn`t answer questions were the real answers just don`t fit her promotional story there are so many holes now that nothing realy fits anymore.
She did say in one magazine interview that they were not good enough ,
personaly I think the old live show and band were much better than the new one , maybe not as talented but much more intresting to see , more free and rocky its a bit boring to watch now all the dancing and costume changes make every performance identical and unitresting way to pop

no they were not fired! They all left of their own accord! God you are just so annoying sometimes! Always jumping to conclusions!
Jess left because him and avril used to date.
Charlie left Cause he had his own life to get on with.
Evan left cause he got a record deal.
Matt left in between the space of UMS and TBDT(to get on with his career)
This is why they left.
Not because they were fired or because Avril was afraid to disobey her ecord company(Which she was never afraid to do e.g. being that she broke away and wrote TBDT without their supervision)
So Yeah.
