The Best Damn Thing moved 121,000 copies for the week ended Sunday, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures released today. While Lavigne's sales slid 58 percent sales slide from the previous week, she was the only artist to register six-figure sales. It also marks Lavigne's first multiweek stay on the Billboard 200.
The disc has hit number one in several other countries, including Japan, where its two-week tally has already surpassed 600,000 copies, compared to 408,000 total copies in the U.S.

Source? I thought she's sold around 350k in Japan in two weeks.

I think you mixed something up because she's been CERTIFIED 2x platinum in Japan but she hasn't sold that much yet. Certified is not the same as sold.

Japan first week=224000
Japan second week=120000

total=344000 in two weeks.

So she's been CERTIFIED 2X platinum but she hasn't sold that yet.

well done Avril still doing well around the world . Hehehehe it is hard to get a handle on sales versus shipped units sitting on a shelf. Certifications are based on shipped units not sales.
Still Avril is number one in the USA, Japan and Canada this week.

U.K.'s Arctic Monkeys made an impressive debut this week, but they weren't the top bananas on the Canadian album charts.

That accomplishment went to Avril Lavigne, whose album "The Best Damn Thing" remained locked at No. 1 for a second straight week, despite a large drop in sales.

Her new disc rang up 26,000 copies, compared to 68,000 last week -- a drop of 62 per cent.

Lavigne also stayed at No. 1 spot south of the border, selling 122,000 copies of "The Best Damn Thing" in the U.S.

Back in Canada, the Monkeys had the best first week on the charts, coming in at No. 4 with sales of 7,000 -- their best-ever chart placement
