Avril's 4th Album

I know it will be a while but here is what I want:

I want an album with ballads, and slower, more contemparary like Like Go (Things I'll never say, mobile, etc) and or easy listening. If the album doesn't have #1 hits thats fine, but I want an album like that regardless of how it does, what about you?

same. maybe a little more like "too much to ask" than mobile. like that emotional kind of pop ya no? things that mean stuff.

No I want more heavier darker songs like "take me away" and "Nobodys home" and "Forgotten, "Together" ect ect.

Ive just taken this from a post i made last week in the Avril games thread about the 4th album......yes im too lazy post something original..


She MUST write a couple of songs on her own atleast, she needs to do that by her 4th record because she will never be considered a songwriter otherwise, and she keeps telling us that she is one. She's capable im sure....i saw a video of her singing a part of a song called 'Sad Face' she wrote herself on guitar at 15.

I want her to focus a little more on the lyrics, in fact i want her to put alot of emphasis on lyrics on the 4th album, not on all songs but on most songs. I dont mind a few 'Girlfriends', 'Sk8er Boi' or 'He Wasnt's' but i want them to be minimal rather than most of the albums standards lyricaly.

I dont want her next album to be completely like any of her other ones...but if i had to chose one it would be more in the direction of UMS. Maybe TBDT is her kiss off to the bratty Avril, that she knew she couldn't pull if she didn't do an album like that now, she would never be alble to afterwards as she'd be too old. Hopeful she will get back on track on her 4th album, I hope.

Most likely though, by the time the next album comes about she will have moved further from the Avril we knew. She seems really focussed on having a strong image rather than music, maybe she wont be too fussed on writing as much? She has introtuced us to her collaborating with rappers, maybe she will do some of that on the next album, more electro than guitars? Id be pretty dissapointed if she did, but we don't know what she's going to do and what direction she will take.

I hope the latter won't happen and that we will get an album that is both very Avril but new and an album that shows the voice she has and the writer that she is capable of being.

Rockier songs like LG, TMA, Forgotten
Acoustic songs (Sad Face )
Ballads like Innocence, Im With You
A proper rock song with Guitar riffs
Uptempo songs like Mobile and Hot.

I just want deep lyrical content, and no more 'hey hey's'. I agree that she SHOULD be able to write songs on her OWN. Atleast the lyrics!

If she still wants the pop/rock powerpop stuff, I advise her to work with John Shanks, he's REALLY good at that stuff.

She can still have her happy, upbeat songs, but she can mature the lyrics, duh.

Oh, I pray for the day she befriends Alanis like sisters, and that Av finds some kind of mentor in her.

I'll post a longer entry in this thread later, but for now I'm kinda lazy lol.

I want something more rock. Kinda like UMS, but I dont mind if the lyrics are like Hot and Contagious, as long as they are more rockish. Also a ballad like When Your Gone, or Nobodys Home will be good to. Maybe a fun song. I guess what I like to see if a bit of everything from all of her albums.
