Avril Lavigne, one of Canada's finest exports, recently rang in the new year in Las Vegas with husband Deryck Whibley and special guest DJ Lil' Jon. The party was set up at new hot spot prive (pronounced preee-vay), and a fun time was had by all.

Lavigne is excited for her tour in support of her new album, The Best Damn Thing, but she revealed she has much more lined up for 2008.

"My New Year's Resolution is just to just work really hard because I'm about to kick off my world tour, and to be healthy and be a good person and just to expand creatively with thing like...I'm going to do a clothing line. I'm going to do a fragrance, and to do lots and keep it going."

Lavigne shared what the scene was like for her New Year's Eve in Vegas.

"Well, I love Vegas. I've never actually spent New Year's Eve here before. I'm super-excited to be here. Prive invited me to come, and I'm very excited about the club. It's brand new, top of the notch. It's totally the place to be. I brought all of my friends. I have about ten of my friends with me and we're just going to party our butts off."

Avril's North American Best Damn Tour begins March 5 in Victoria, British Columbia, and then she'll head to Europe in late May with dates currently extending through June.

Why do all these celebrities have perfumes? I always thought that was kinda random. Clothing lines I understand but...

For goodness sake, just when you think that finally someone who's talented comes a long, is down to earth and not into the whole media bullshit and making a quick buck what happens? Out come the perfume and clothing line. The day she does that will be the day she will lose so much respect. Including mine. I love her music but if she does that how can I actually respect? What's after that?

Dear god I hope this is fake. I will remain hopeful until I see actual hard evidence - i.e. advertising it.

I like that she's doing a clothing line and a fragnance but in the same time I think it's a bit to girlie.
She's grown and she's start to wear pink and more expencive clothes but does she really have to fo a fragnance and stuff.
It's like every celebrity does that and now she does.
But I will buy clothes of hers.
I just hope that it's a little bit black and that she hasn't turned into a hardcore ''girl'' (even though she is a girl lol) And it's just pink everywhere.

when she said "expand creatively" I got my hopes up for a split second that she meant in a musical way and not just branch out into doing acting/clothes/etc

I always wonder with the perfume things whether the people say "I wanna do my own perfume" or whether a company contacts them first and they say "yeah why not"
