I don't understand why you guys are shitting a brick.
She's smoking and flipping the bird. What else is new? She's done this since day one. So she can do all that in front of the paparazzi. But as soon as it's on the big screen it's a problem? Who cares if there are "younger" fans out there. They're going to have to deal with the fact they are idolizing a TWENTY-THREE year old. Two years past the drinking age (in the states) and FIVE past the smoking age. She doesn't have to be a saint. One other thing... Most of you are worried about your younger sibs/fans seeing her smoke. But you're okay with letting them hear her sing these lyrics... Girlfriend: "I'm the motherfucking princess..." I Can Do Better: "I'm sick of your shit..." I Don't Have to Try: "Get ready motherfucker..." The Best Damn Thing: "I'm the best damn thing..." My Happy Ending: "All the shit that you do..." He Wasn't: "Like I was fucking special..." Bad Reputation: "I don't give a damn about my bad reputation..." You don't wanna see her smoke and flip off the camera but you don't mind the younger ones hearing that. Nice. It's the same deal. And to whoever said Joan Jett was a wannabe punk rocker... fucking know your music history. She is a pioneer and almost legendary in the rock industry. She paved the way for many female rockers. How do you NOT know that? I'm done.

I personally am not bothered by her swearing.
We are all bound to learn those words. It doesn't take Avril Lavigne for youngsters to learn how to cuss. I mean, I see, like, eight-year-old's swearing. People learn to swear because they hear, whereas they normally don't start smoking because they see other people smoking. Now if their new found idol, who has the popularity of having fans wear her same stuff, smokes in front of them when we rarely see her smoke in those paparazzi pictures and videos, things become a bit different, and maybe those fans think it's cool and actually start from that. So the way I see things, it's not the same deal. Now if we saw Av smoking on a daily basis or even just now and then, I wouldn't have been annoyed much. And I actually don't care if those young fans start smoking because they see Av smoking in a montage video. If they do that, stupid them. Just saying, it doesn't fit with the all around appearance. And this was considerably long. Please don't reply back.
