When Did Your Avril Lavigne Addiction Start?

i liked complicated (the song)
then i saw the video and bam. i knew i was a fan.
the addiction didn't start til after i saw her in concert in april 2003 cause i really didn't listen to let go often. i didn't even know the whole cd by heart except for the singles. i had no idea about get over it and why. i asked my friend what her fave avril song was. she said the first line of get over it cause she didn't know what it was called. i was thinking what the heck song is that???? so i thought i would try to find it.
after that i listened to let go all the time.
when under my skin came out it was the perfect album for me at the time.
on april 17 or 18 2005 (i can't remember) i joined bandaids for the media. now thanks to canadian copyright laws that suck i can't download live tracks and bsides.
anyways almost 3 years and im still here. even though im less than half the avril fan i used to be this site is still my favourite site. lets just hope she releases a better album with the next one.

When i was in 4th grade i heard the songs sk8er boi and complicated and totally fell in love with them then i bought her 2nd album that had came out then i kinda driffted away from avril and didnt listen to much music.
As i was growing up i was just trying to find myself and i even came close to suicide but then i met this girl named branna who went to my middle school and she was a huge avril freak and i had kinda liked her from before so she kinda got me back into avril and avril helped me get through it all "lifes worth living for"

when Avril first came out on the musice scene i was in middle school and pop/rock wasnt my type of music back then so i never really cared for Avril. a few years passed by and i was watching mtv2 music playlist and Avrils playlist came up so i watched it for the hell of it. they gave every single video that she made and i was BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!! i was shocked, i fell in love with all of her videos! i was so pissed at myself for not listening to her sooner. i was missing out on the 2 greatest cds ever ( let go and under my skin) so i got addicted, everyday i needed my dose of Avril, and now her new cd came out and now i have an even bigger addiction

But i hate too when she says that on stage, I saw her live for the first time in July 2007 in Germany, and she said something like "This song goes to all the fans who's been there since the beginning!" And I just felt really bad.

i became addicted after hearing My Happy Ending. It reminded me of a situation I was in at one time. So, gradually I started listening to more of Avril's songs and from then on, she was my favorite artist.

I think it's so annoying...!
Avril isn't that famous here in Sweden so it was just when the music video of ''Girlfriend'' (my friend showed me it) and then I was just like '' She's pretty cool'' and I searcht on youtube and wikipedia and I thought she was really cool and had a very strong personality but it was first after I heard My Happy Ending I beccame a fan
So now I have all her albums and know almost everything about her

my addiction started, when it was something about her that i really liked/loved.....her music, her voice, both singing and just talking.....especially seeing her Smile, always kept me Happy!....."It's Beautiful!" =)

...but above all that....it's her Eyes that kept me in tune!
...she's definitely got something in her Eyes that just draws me in!.....its powerful stuff....lol...

if i met her one day, or during her concert, i'd really like her to sign my guitar!

people are gonna hate me bringing paramore up but i feel the same way you do about avril but with paramore. i always saw the link to paramorefans here and didn't care about them cause i thought they were like fob. i became a fan after misery business was on the radio. they say the same thing at their shows. i have their first album and its one of my favourite albums. but i still feel bad.

I'm a singer, I've sang all my life. my grandma liked my voice and my dad encouraged me. I first heard Av in 2002, i was 12. My father died early that year 10 days from his birthday and my grandma was diagnosed with cancer and died 3 months later that same year. i was a crushed little kid who just lost two of the people he loved most. I gave up on music, and life. I happened to have the radio on one miserable night and I heard my fav song, "I'm with you" for the 1st time all the way through. It said everything I felt and Reminded me why I loved music and that my dad and grandma were with me and wouldnt want me to stop. I wouldnt be who I am today if it wasnt for Avril. i will always be thankful to her. I bought under my skin, I had just had a bad breakup and lost more friends and family. it said exactly what I was feeling (My Happpy Ending, Nobody's Home, FALL TO PIECES, SLIPPED AWAY) and is my Favorite Album. Just when I start falling in love, out comes "The Best Damn Thing". I love how each record is different, most artist make 1 or 2 big records then they suck cause they dont evolve. yet Av comes Fresh each time. with the pop gorgeous "Let Go" Her Rock masterpiece "Under my Skin" and the fun, Quick, "best Damn Thing". I will always love her and cant wait to see what she does next. In 2 or 3 years where she, and I, will be.

When I first heard complicated i liked the song, then I saw the video on MTV and like the next week I bought the album. But during the let go era i wasnt addicted, I only heard her songs, i didnt know much about avril i just liked her music. Then when I heard she was releasing a new record, UMS, I started to get more addicted to her. And yea, my addiction to her started on 2004, but every year im more and more addicted

My addiction started, April 2002. when muchmusic first aired her music video for "Complicated". i didn't really watch muchmusic at that time but since then, i was hooked. i started to watch musicmusic every day, just to see the "Complicated" video and counted down the days until her album came out and been a huge fan since. =)

Yeah, I've been addicted since the start.. I was nine, I was in 4th grade, I didn't knew about her and I had a friend who was a big fan of her (I don't think she is now, I've kind of lost contact) and she talked to me all the time about her so one day I decide to check her out so the single that was out at the moment was sk8er boi and I remeber watching the video and thinkin wao she's really cool, so I got the album and I loved it, it was all I listened at the time, it was one of the 1st albums that I listen to complete, so I don't know really how it all happened but I just became addicted to her, I loved her band, I loved her songs, I loved her voice, I don't know she was really different at the time (now she has doubles all aroud the world) and I was a pretty weird kid and she made me see that being different its ok, I know it sound silly but she really helped me

So at the time I listened to shitty pop music but I was growing up so my tastes changed a lot, so UMS and it still my favorite album of hers, I just could relate to completely, I loved the style that she was having and well I waited a lot for the album, I remember listening when he wasn't leaked out, and listening to the acoustic versions of my happy ending and it was when I realize that albums leaked out like a week before the realize because of the internet lol, good times

So TBDT came out and soon as I hear girlfriend I was really disappointed so I thought you know maybe its time to move on, but In realized I can't I'm too attached to her, but I enjoyed the album I just hope she comes out with something better... Maybe my obsession will tune down once I get a change to see her live, I've never had the opportunity she never comes to venezuela...
