AWESOME IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now the how... Does anyone here read Kanji?
I googled "Avril Lavigne Japanese fansite", and the first hit was Melissa's website at
avril-l.org, which is great, but not exactly in Japan.
The third Google hit was
LINKS :: Avril Street :: Avril Lavigne Japanese Fansite, which is in Japanese. The message board there is more like a posting page with fairly slow activity, and the rest of the site looks several years old.
Given Avril's HUGE popularity in Japan, I think "joining forces" with Japanese fans is an interesting idea for these voting contests to increase Avril's numbers, but the language barrier is pretty significant for most of us, on either side of the equation. Even ONE multilingual Avril fan could theoretically make a HUGE difference by cross-posting to a popular Japanese fansite, if presumably one or more exists.
Does anyone know of any Japanese Avril fansites that Google or other search engines maybe just can't pick up on?
Hey Admins, have you considered forming an Avril "webring" for all of her fansites, to increase the numbers for these types of contests? I think to Madina's point, the lack of a language bridge to the Japanese fans is a problem in truly representing Avril's worldwide appeal.
C'mon, Avril's currently LOSING to Gwen by a measly .28%. We can still do this!!!
