My Review - Manchester, UK 29.5.08

When I found out in November that Avril was gonna tour in the UK again, I freaked out! I hadn’t seen her live since May 22 2005 in Birmingham. So, I guessed it was time that I saw her live again.

When I saw videos of her newest tour, “The Best Damn Tour” on YouTube, I was like “OMG… It looks fucking amazing!” But, when it hit May 1, this year, as each day passed up until it got to the big day, I was getting more & more excited day by day. On one of the days, I actually forgot for like, a second that I was going! LOL

A few weeks later, the day finally came. After discussing it all the time on BandAids, I actually excited all over again!
When I arrived at the arena, around 7:30-ish, the Jonas Brothers (Avril’s support act) had just started playing – I think ‘m gonna take back the “I hate them” comment, they actually sounded really good! I missed their set, though because I was in the line buying all my awesome Avril stuff! Haha. They were kinda finished when I eventually found where I was supposed to be.

About 20 minutes later after finding where I was supposed to be sitting, the lights went down, and that could’ve only meant one thing… Avril was coming on!!!
Av’s first song was of course “Girlfriend”, I kinda noticed loooads of people were kinda there just wanting hear that one song, that just pisses me off that they go all that way just to hear her play one stinkin’ song! I will admit that she went waaay too crazy with the big LED screen in the middle! I went crazy when she finally got round to doing “Complicated” – my favorite song of Av’s ever! Not too many people knew her song, “I Always Get What I Want”, except for me & a few others…

She was only on for an hour – she normally does something like 75 minutes. I didn’t like the fact that she’d shortened songs like “Runaway”, “Losing Grip”, “Don’t Tell Me” & “Hot”. Another thing that was disappointing was that she didn’t do “When You’re Gone” or “Innocence”, I was dying to hear “Innocence” because that’s my favorite song from “The Best Damn Thing” – I think I know why she didn’t do those two, obviously because she doesn’t want to destroy her voice every night performing them.

After the show, I did want to go out and wait by the tourbuses but, I didn’t because it was raining and I was kinda tired afterwards. Damn, maybe next time!

I will say that since she came back off her break, Avril’s voice sounds better than ever!

Best Damn Parts:

• “Complicated” Got Played!
• * I got to see Avril again!
• * I thought” The Best Damn Thing” was awesome live!
• * I bought waaay too much merch!

Worst Damn Parts:

• She shortened songs!
• The show was only an hour long!
• I was seated but, some of my pics look awful!
• I’d just missed the Jonas Brothers’ set LOL!

Yes, I did.

I was sitting, though. I just uploaded em now, I thought they'd turn out crap but, I was shocked... they came out alright!

I'm just uploading them to my photobucket account now - I'll edit my post when i'm done!
