Proctor and Gamble (Avril Lavigne's Fragrance Partner) Supports Animal Testing

Well Perez will probably pick this up and then a bunch of other blogs that don't like her and I'm sure Avril will hear about it in an interview or something if someone doesn't tell her before.

It makes her looks bad either way. If she says she didn't know then she looks dumb and it becomes more obvious that she's not as hands on as she says. If she does know then it makes her looks like a bad person in a lot of peoples eyes. It's unfortuneate that this situation had to come up. It's true that Avril's not slapping lipstick on a sheep or anything but the fact that her name is on a product that was tested on a sheep (or whatever) gives anyone the liscence to rip her a new one. They could easily make the argument that she is endorsing animal testing by using that company to sell her product.

Personally I wouldn't buy her perfume anyway because perfume makes my head hurt.

A lot of the medication you take has been tested either on animals or willing humans (bit different, but its testing none the less). You might be unaware of which, you might not, either way, I guarentee you wouldnt have a problem taking it

And also, if we're going to get scientific, most animals, the majority that are being tested on, which are rats and mice, (you see dogs on the website because it pulls the heart strings more right?), they DON'T have feelings, they act on instinct alone, its not like they go

"Wow, hey lab rat B, have you smelt this? Jesus its awful, how long til we try the next stuff?"
"I dunno lab rat A, but I sure hope that Avril Lavigne comes along and tells them nasty people to stop spraying us"

That doesnt make it right, and its a pretty poor argument to be fair, but it always riles me up when people say OH MY GOD BUT THINK OF THE FEELINGS, no feelings I'm afraid, instinct

Why you decide to blame Avril for this I'll never know. If she decided to shun every company who did some form of live testing, she wouldnt be releasing a fragrance at all

And besides, when you try this new fragrance and it turns your head into a baloon because it hasnt been tested then you might appreciate it a little more

oh and i DONT use ANYTHING that has been tested on animals. I was saying that animals have feelings whever they instinct or not. Humans have the right to say NO. animals dont and you dont know for sure what theyre gonna do.

And thanks to stracabelle and the girl above that post talking nicley and not disacreeing or agreeing i think on this supject its good. but lets hope some one does email nettwerk managment about it.

But, I don't know why I said it, rats quite clearly do talk, you know like you said they have feelings. Just yesterday i was stopped by a rat telling me hes sick of living in the dumps and wants to turn his life around........:/

I wasnt saying that she works for animal testing because she doesnt your right. What i was saying was that the company she/nettwerk managment or who ever chosse test on animals with the money YOU use to but her perfume with.

You do understand that it would probably be hard for her to get out of the contract now? Even if she wanted to there would most likely be penalties. Would you still quit liking her if she couldn't get out of her contract?

It should be noted that, on their website, they claim that they use animal testing as a last resort.

Does it make it right? Not necessarily, but they might not be testing anything on any animals other than pet food, which they do make...
