I do remember the first campaign just after Girlfriend came out and that's why I thought the counters had been discussed then and dismissed , I thought any subsequent campaigns were the same , looks like I was the only one who was clicking refresh every few minuets , no wonder I was sick of that song after a week .
my Bitch is because I though Avrils 88 000 000 views were real not done with a computer programme and if we had got 90% of the way there for real I question why we would cheat when we are near the end.
If we and other bands fansites are doing the same from the start then I guess its fair even if it makes the whole thing even more meaningless.


Did the sponsors choose or is that just an explanation as to wht Avril didn't win ? you don't think Michael Buble was taking the piss out of doritos when he accepted his award , he won the CTV poll they did Avril came second . even if I think the idea of anyone liking that piece of cheese as absurd he is kind of popular over there.

There was a news article on Canada.com that suggested that Buble had an ad arrangement with the Frito-Lay company who owns Doritos as one of the sponsors for some of his live performances and that it is possible that this was one of the factors that lead to his winning the fan choice award.

The article basically pointed out that Buble's demographic of fan is not the type to vote online for this kind of award, whereas Avril's fans are.

Anyways, no solid facts but still fishy.

I believe that the youtube counter updates every given amount of hours, to avoid problems such as freezing and server overload.
