wow, that's weird....

what inspired this? cause i think i've seen something in a movie where they pulled stuff out of their skin. i think aeon flux, but i'm not sure

I was originally inspired for the whole story by a mini-series on CBC, but now it's completely different. The last little bit was a Phili original.

i had a thought late last night...WHAT IF it's the DOCTORS who were doing this to people? they had found some new disease and decided to give their treatment to certain people without them suspecting and it went totally wrong? oooh

After Anna was signed out, Steve hurriedly whispered in Cone'sear, "Get her to the hospital across town. She's badly injured. On the way, try to clean out her cuts. They're on her back. Do anything you can to flush them out."
"What the fuck?! But wouldn't the doc--"
"Just do it!" Steve hissed.
"Someone will explain this eventually, right?" Cone raised his eyebrows.
"Yes! Hurry!" Anna tugged Cone's sleeve from the wheelchair.
"Bye, baby." Steve leaned forward and kissed her.
"Love you," she held his hand until the pull of the chair forced her to let go.
Left in the middle of the hallway, he hesitantly got out of his chair. He felt a little woozy, but managed to walk steadily.
He relaxed his clenched hand and a paper fell out. It shimmered in the light.
Steve scooped it up and his blood ran cold at the words laid so delicately on it.
Your pretty has until sundown tomorrow and then she will be ours once more. Unless you find a replacement, that is your chore. This is your only choice, your only test. To keep the one you love the best.

Steve's green eyes flashed. He had to get Anna back from Cone. He didn't know what they'd make Cone do to her, but he was sureit wasn't good.
"Deryck!" he shouted into his room, "Cover for me, I've gotta go save Anna."
"Wait, Anna's awake now?!"
"I can't talk about it right at this second. Have some tofurkey!" Steve gestured at the fridge beside the bed then dashed down the hall.
As he ran, he heard in the distance his sister say, "Where's Steve?"
"Rescue mission. Tofurkey?" Deryck offered.
Steve ran, shoving past confused doctors and barely missing stretchers.
He burst through the doors just in time to spot Cone helping Anna into his car.
"No!" yelled Steve. He dashed forward and yanked Cone from Anna.
"Steve, what the fuck are you doing?" exclaimed Cone.
Steve spun his friend around and looked at Cone's face. His eyes were bloodshot to an extent that he would never let happen on his own.
Steve showed Cone's eyes to Anna. As she examined his face, Steve noticed that Cone was frozen ina subgenre of guilt. The guilt of knowing you're doing something wrong but not being able to stop.
Even if Anna said he didn't look controlled, Steve was positive that Cone was the unwilling influence of the whoevers who had taken Anna. "Those eyes say it all. It's like a hangover. Aspirin and a good long sleep fight it right off." Anna cringed as she leaned back against the seat, "We'll set him up with Deryck, but then we have to go."
Steve nodded then looked at Cone's dazed expression. Who could do this? And who could he find to replace Anna?
