lol you guys seemed like you were pretty desperate for an update...and being burned alive is not how i'd like to spend my day, thank you very much
ok so i finally got an update...enjoy (actually you probably won't...)!

When I woke up, I heard Avril throwing up in the bathroom. “Oh, great,” I muttered. I felt really bad for Avril, but I just didn’t have enough energy to get up and help her. I closed my eyes for a minute, then heard Avril start crying. I felt so bad, I rolled out of bed and practically crawled to the bathroom where Avril was sitting.
Tears were streaking Avril’s face. “Deryck, I feel awful,” she moaned.
I rubbed her back gently and said, “What’s wrong?”
I felt kind of stupid; the answer was obvious. But Avril didn’t look at me like I was stupid. She brushed some hair off of her face and said, “I have morning sickness...and, Der, I dreamt about Steve last night. I dreamt about...about the attack.”
I wrapped my arms around Avril protectively. I couldn’t believe that less than a few weeks ago, I had seen Steve as the person who would always be there for me. Now it seemed like my whole life was falling apart, and it was all thanks to him.
“I’m so sorry, Av,” I whispered in her ear. “If you want, we can go back to our room and talk.” Avril gingerly got up off the floor. “Are you okay to walk?” I asked gently. Avril nodded.
“I’ll be fine. It’s only ten yards,” she reminded me. I squeezed Avril’s hand. I didn’t want to let go of her.
Avril and I sat together in her chair. It was really small, but I wanted to hold Av on my lap. I stroked her stomach while she leaned against me and tried to fight the tears that were threatening to spill out. Finally, Avril just broke down and started sobbing on my chest.
“Der...it was awful,” she choked out through her tears. I rubbed Avril’s back, trying to persuade her not to talk until she stopped crying. Avril was shaking, coughing, she had tears stuck in her throat.
When I finally managed to calm Avril down, I convinced her to tell me about her dream. I knew that getting it off her chest and just telling someone would probably make her feel better, but I also had an ulterior motive. Slowly and carefully, I was collecting an arsenal of things to launch at Steve when the time came. As much as I had loved him in the past, I desperately wanted to cause him some sort of grief or pain. I felt that he deserved it after what he had done to my wife, whom he knew was so precious to me.
“Come on, Av,” I coaxed her. “You can tell me. It’ll help you feel better.”
Avril took a deep breath. “I just felt it all again...the pain, the emotional hurt, the panic...the wonder. I could really feel him raping me, Der. And then I woke up, all panicked...I was so scared I felt sick to my stomach.”
“Is that what happened?” I felt my throat tighten and for a minute I couldn’t breathe. It hurt me so much to see Avril like this. She was a side of Avril that I didn’t like to see. She was weak and vulnerable, and scared.
“Avril...you need to tell me more,” I told her. “I want the whole story. Just knowing that Steve raped you doesn’t cut it for me...I need to know it all.” I saw Avril looking like she was going to start crying again. “I know it’s hard for you,” I whispered. “I know it’s hard to recount the details of something that was so painful. But, please, you need to tell me. I want to know, I feel like it’s important to knowing who you are...and who Steve really is.”
Avril leaned against me. “Okay,” she said softly. “I’ll tell you...I’ll tell you it all, from the very day you kissed me and told me you loved me."
