The Average Teenage Girl?

Eliza stood in front of her large Avril poster on the wall, she smiled with content as she packed her assignment on someone who was special to her. However today was different. Today Eliza was not going to make it to school.

She ate breakfast with a smile on her face, she was so happy for today, every day is a gift for Eliza, ever since her younger sister and mother died in a car crash 3 years ago. being 16 without a mother is not always easy, although she has a strong bond with her father, it is not the same.

As she left the house grabbing her bag and lunch she smiled at her Dad and left to meet her friends at the corner shop. She left out of the back door, she was greeted by a familiar fresh smell of cut grass, her mid length blond hair was attracted by the wind and was carried by the breeze. Her blue eyes met her path that she was going to take to school.

While going down her road she caught sight of a small girl lying on the path on the opposite side. she rushed towards her. her heart pounding heavily.

'Can you hear me?' she said to her, she did not receive a reply. she grabbed her phone and called 911 for an ambulance.

Part 2


When the ambulance arrived at the scene, they took the small girl into the ambulance the reason they did this was unknown, Eliza requested that she was taken with her. With little persuasion they allowed her to.

At the hospital the small girl was taken to the children's ward. They took Eliza to a waiting room. Within hours of waiting Eliza was rather bored and wondering why she was still here.

There was a knock at the door.

A doctor entered and said to Eliza 'You are the person that found Alyssa'

'Alyssa? You mean the girl who was lying in the street?'

'Yes her name is Alyssa... she is awake and would like to see you'

Eliza walked through the white paved walls, listening intently to all who were around her.

Memories were flooding in from when she had to visit her mother in the very same hospital; her sister had died at the scene of the crash, straight after winning an award for her singing. Avril Lavigne reminded her so much of her beautiful sister. She was lead in to the same ward her mother was in when she was recovering from the crash. She was lead to the same bed that her mother was lying in. she was lead to the same bed that her mother died in.

Eliza swallowed the lump in her throat.
