" Ok boys are you ready " The boss said walking passed us after we had made ourselves ready.
" Yeah " We all said nodding our heads.
" OK, now you are going to go and save that people inside. I don't want to see anybody here play a hero here you understand !" He said like an angry marshall. He was like that very often.
" Yes " We said nodding our heads again.
" We have trained for this many times, so I want you to do it as we have trained. Now go !!" He said pointing us to go as we walked slowly towards the bar. As I passed the police line we putted up the memories of last night kept rushing through my head. I remembered me passing by the druggies in the hallway, getting the drink at the bar, and meeting Avril in the VIP room and many more memories that kept rushing through my head.

" Whibley, go near the front door " I heard the boss say in the audio thing in my ears, wich made him available to talk to all of us.
" Rodriguez, follow Whibley " The boss said to Tom as he followed me towards the front door.
" Are you ready " I heard Tom wisper in my ear.
" As ready as I can be " I said nodding my head. All of a sudden a memory kept rushing through my haid again and again, it was me last night drinking the scots the bartended made for me, I remembered looking around me as drinking and I rememered seeing a sky window. I looked up and saw it was not a long way to the roof and I could easily clime up there, but I know I wasn't allowed, the boss would be very angry, angrier than he is normally, so I decieded not to do it, I would see if she was in there when we would go inside.

-- 10 minutes later --

" OK guys, go inside " The boss said as we burst inside and faced the shooters and the victims, I quickly looked at the victims and saw Avril among them. Here she went after leaving my house before 7 am. I saw on her face that she was happy to see me, she knew it by now that I would save her everytime. After we had burst inside the shooting started. We had been trained for this, hurt or kill the shooters, but more hurt them then kill them. I got one shooter in first shot straight in his arm so it hurted him so much that he dropped his gun and layed on the floor. The shooters were 5. And before we knew we had almost got them all. The last one was a though one.

It all happened in few secconds, Tom got him in the shoulder but before we knew Tom layed on the floor with two shots in him, one in his stomach and one in his ribs. I ran quickly towards him and held on his wounds. But the guy wasn't dead and shot me in the arm, it was no biggie, just in the muscle. All I cared about was Tom. So I took my gun and shot him two or three times in the stomach and he layed dead on the floor.

" Take everybody that are alive and cuff them and somebody call an ambulence " I said yelling both towards the guys and the audio thing in my ear. Tom's condition was faiding.

" You can't leave Tom, you have to stay with me " I said holding thightly around his wounds.
" Face it Der, I don't stand a chance " He said slowly.
" Yes you do Tom... " I said as I started shaking.
" Tell Sara I love her " He said like he was about to die.
" No Tom, you'll say her that yourself " I said swallowing the crying that was about to appear in my throat.
" No Deryck, I can't.. tell her.. promise me... that " He said slowly.
" No, You can't leave me " I said as I felt a tear running down my cheek.
" Thank you.. for... everything " He said as he took his last breath.
" No Tom, you can't.." I said hugging him as I felt the tears run down my cheek massivly. He was gone, my best friend in the whole wide world was gone.

" Deryck " I heard Avril say as I looked at my best friend and my co-partner laying on the floor dead.
" What ?" I asked looking up at her.
" Thank you for savin me " She said standing beside me as I looked back down at Tom.
" You're welcome " I said looking at him as the boss and three other police officers came inside.
" Whibley " My boss said looking at us.
" Boss..." I said turnig around looking at him with tears in my eyes.
" You're hurt, get in the ambulence so they can close it " He said walking closer to us slowly.
" No, sir " I said looking back at Tom with tears in my eyes.
" Whibley, get in the ambulence now !!" He said as I knew I couldn't do anything but do as he said. I walked outside quietly and in my own world, I didn't want to see anybody, meet anybody or talk to anybody. I wasn't going to the ambulence, I didn't care. As I walked pass the ambulence I felt someone grab my hand, for a moment I thought it was Tom, at least my mind wanted it to be Tom, but as I turned it wasn't him, just a silly paramedic.

" You are hurt, I think you should come inside and we will treat the injury " He said pulling my arm.
" Ok then " I said drying few tears on my cheek as I sat down in the ambulence.
" Have you seen officer Whibley somewhere " I heard Avril ask outside the ambulence.
" I'm in here Av " I said looking straight forward like there was nothing in front of me, nothing I looked forward to, nothing.
" Deryck, I'm so sorry for what happened to your friend " She said coming into the ambulence.
" Why do you care, its not like its your fault " I said walking out of the ambulence as they finished. I regetted saying that.
" I do care Deryck " She said following me around the area.
" Well good to know " I said turning around quickly.
" And its not like its my fault " She said with a sad face.
" I know its not your fault " I said turning around and walked towards the car.
" Deryck !!" I heard Avril say behind me but I acted like I didn't hear her.
" Deryck !!" I heard her say before I shutted the car door. I had lost my co workers before but it was so hard to lose him, it remembered me of what had happened 5 years ago, before I was a cop. Something that I had never thought about since it happened just because it brought me to much hurt and sorrow that I couldn't think about it, not even a little bit.
