-- One and a half our later --

I parked the car on the driveway and grabbed the carseat which had Liz in it outside with me. It was dark and cloudy and there was a high chance of raining, at least that was what the weatherman said on the radio just few minutes ago.
I heard a thunder go down in the distance right before I reached the door and hurried inside because the first drops of rain were falling down. I didn't care about me getting wet, I was only thinking about little Liz.

I looked down in the carseat she was laying in, still sleeping.
She had been sleeping for like two hours by now. When I looked at her I could only smile, but like Steph said the hard work was still yet to come, and it would even be harder if Avril had that depression, then I would have to raise her on my own, while she went through treatment.
I put down the bags that were making my shoulders tired and I looked around, the living room was empty. I guessed Avril had just taken my advise and taken a relaxing long hot bath.

I took the carseat and walked towards the baby room, but I never made it to the baby room. I heard someone crying, and I knew well it was Avril.
I lookded around me again and tried to single the sound, and where it came from. The bedroom was the closest option.

I slowly opened the door and looked inside, I saw Avril sitting on the floor by the bed and holding her face in her arms. Without even thinking I placed Liz on the floor and hurried to Avril. I placed my arms around Avril and held her tightly, then I wispered in her ear.
- Whats wrong sweetie?
This was the first I had called Avril sweetie, babe or any of these names.
She just raised her head and looked at me. It was dark in the room, but I could see black eye, and fat lip along with some other scratches on her face. I wondered how her body was.
- Oh my god, what happened to you?
I asked with a shock on my face and concern in my voice.
She didn't say anything, she just moved her head on my chest and started to cry even more.
I stroked her hair gently and kissed her head once in a while.
- Who did this to you Av?
I rested my head against hers.
- You can tell me Av, I love you so much and I don't want to see you get hurt. Who did this to you?
She raised her head up and looked at me. Her eyes were full of tears, and few of them were going down her cheek. I gently dried off the tears, gently and slowly so the sores wouldn't hurt more than they did.
- If I tell you...... it will hurt you.....
She looked down again and I could see whatever had been done to her, scared her, not only on the body, also on the sole inside.
- How will it hurt me? Please tell me, I don't want to see you upset like this?
Before I could even think about what to say next she continued.
- You want to know who it was?..
She paused and looked down.
- It was John.........

I couldn't tell you
Why she felt that way
She felt it everyday
I couldn't help her
I just watched her make
The same mistakes again
