The Wedding 2

[Quarter of Delirium]

I can't think of another title for this part soooo The wedding 2 is good enough i guess I just wrote this and i don't really have a plot yet..but i'll try to think of something..and i will be updating pretty slow for this one due to my freakin hectic schedule this semester. Anyways, this is the second part of my story..And i'm basically continuing the last part when Deryck got his memory back.

2nd part…
‘But…how can this happen?’ Avril shook her head in disbelief, tears flowed incessantly.
‘How can what happen?’
‘Ok it’s just a dream…just a dream’ she closed her eyes hard, rubbing her temples with both hands. Deryck laughed at her actions.
‘No
it’s not a dream’ he paused. ‘I remember you … and the wedding and the dates and everything!’ he continued.
‘What song did we dance to on our wedding night?’ asked Avril, her eyeliner smeared down her eyes.
‘Iris’ Deryck gushed.
She gasped and walked closer to Deryck. Her shivering hands met his.
Deryck wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly.
‘I miss you’ he whispered. Avril was half speechless and ecstatic at the same time. Her prayers were heard and finally answered, she thought.
‘I miss you too’ she kissed his forehead.
‘But how did everything come back to you so fast?’ she asked.
‘I don’t know…it was so sudden…I woke up and everything flashed back…’ he said. ‘Images were everywhere…’
Avril sat down and stared into his eyes. Something she had missed for so long is finally back where it belonged. She could see it in his eyes and feel it.

‘Well, hello there! Good morning’ a man greeted from the doorway. ‘I can see everything is going on fine this morning. How are you feeling Mr. Whibley?’
‘I’m feeling better than ever’ he beamed. Avril turned and smiled at the doctor.
‘Well, we need a room for the other patients’ the doctor chuckled. ‘You’ll be free to go after a quick check’ he added.
‘Oh! Awesome!’ said Deryck cheerfully.
The doctor glanced at the clenched hands and smiled at Avril.
‘Thanks again doctor’ said Avril.

‘It ain’t cheap to bail you out’ Cone shook his head in disappointment.
‘I’m so sorry dude…’Steve apologized.
‘No, you don’t have to apologize to me…you should apologize to Av’ said Cone. ‘She’d been through SO much and you made things worse’
Steve just remained quiet and stared out the car window.
‘But…I gotta say…you’re one heck of a lucky bastard’ Cone added.
‘Huh?’
‘Deryck remembers everything now’ Cone smiled slyly.
‘What? No kidding!’ Steve shrieked.
‘Yup!’ Cone nodded. “But don’t be too happy for now…you seriously owe them an apology”
‘I know…’said Steve.
‘What were you thinking anyway?’
‘I was drunk okay!’ Steve shouted.
‘Drunk to an extent of pushing a friend down a flight of stairs?’ Cone frowned.
‘It was an accident…’
Cone shook his head and drove quietly.

This is a dream, this is a dream, Avril thought to herself over and over again.
‘Hun? Are you okay?’ asked Deryck, pulling her back to reality.
‘Yea…I’m fine’ said Avril, smiling. She was still marveled by the sudden windfall. Needless to say, she felt unusually awkward to be close to Deryck again.
‘Let’s get you home’ she said. Deryck had just finished his final check-ups and packed all his belongings.
‘It’s weird for you isn’t it?’ asked Deryck on the way out of the hospital.
‘What?’
‘This. My memory and everything’ he said. ‘It’s hard for me too’ he grabbed Avril’s hand.
‘No it’s not weird…’she said ‘It’s just so unexpected…well maybe a little weird’ they laughed.
‘I’m sorry’ said Deryck.
‘What for?’ asked Avril.
‘For forgetting you’ he said. ‘That must’ve been an unbelievably colossal blow to my head!’
Avril laughed, ‘It’s not your fault’ she said.
‘I have a question though, what were you doing at the club?’ she asked curiously.
‘This is odd, but I was thinking of you all night’ he answered sincerely.
‘What happened?’
‘Steve was being an ass and I just lost it’ he explained.
‘I see… and you ended up under the stairs’ teased Avril.
‘By good fate I guess’ he beamed. She swatted him.
‘I love you’ he cooed. ‘And let’s get something to eat, I am starving!’

‘They’re staring’
‘Who?’ asked Deryck.
‘Them…behind you’ whispered Avril. ‘I knew this is a bad idea. We should have just gone home’
‘Just ignore them…and you need to eat’ insisted Deryck.
Avril heaved a sigh and stared at the menu uneasily. She held the menu higher to cover her face when she noticed a man staring at her.
‘May I take your order?’ inquired the well-suited waiter.
‘I’ll have spaghetti salad and crème mushroom soup’ said Deryck.
‘I’ll have the same thing’ said Avril.
The waiter wrote the order on his blue booklet and blinked at Avril before he left. She ignored the gesture and said, ‘This is not a good idea hun…you just got out of the hospital’.
Deryck held her hand; he said ‘Don’t worry…its okay. We’ll leave right after this meal’.
Avril just nodded hopelessly. She felt eyes boring into her back and tried hard to ignore them. A sudden flash sparked from behind a bush in the corridor and audible murmurs traveled across the restaurant. Avril’s senses heightened with discomfort.
‘They’re taking pictures again’ she said softly.
‘It’s okay; I’ll take care of it’. Deryck stood up and started to look for the outlet manager. A man in blue blazer and brown leather shoes padded to Deryck. They exchanged words swiftly before the man turn to Avril and said, ‘I’m very sorry for this inconvenience Mrs.Whibley. Perhaps I could direct you to a private dining room?’ he smiled with hospitality spread across his gleaming face.
‘Thank you’ said Avril, and stood up immediately. Deryck held her hand and walked her to the private dining room.
Mr.Blue led them into an elegant (and blue) dining room at the end of a cavern-like hallway. ‘Lunch will be served in a minute, if you need anything, simply press on this red button and the waiter will be here in a dash’ he said.
“Thank you so much” said Deryck.
“My pleasure” Blue replied and left the room beaming.

Deryck turned to Avril smiling and said, ‘Much better?’.
Avril kissed him and said, ‘You’re the best’.
‘Well, what can I say’ Deryck grinned and lifted his left brow proudly.
‘Shut up’ said Avril and laughed.




I suck at romantic moments so forgive me for this shortcoming.

‘What should I say?’ asked Steve gazing out the car window.
‘Just say you’re sorry for all the mess’ said Cone.
‘What if Der gets all boiled up and burst a blood vessel in his brain or something?’ said Steve. ‘Maybe I shouldn’t do this. I’ll wait!’
‘Wait for what?’ asked Cone.
‘Wait for things to get better. It happens all the time.We’ll be cool’ Steve said with a slice of confidence.
Cone squinted at him and said, ‘Why don’t you cut the nonsense and just apologize. Then it’ll be cool’.
‘But I’m…’ Steve paused.
‘You’re what? Scared?’ Cone laughed.
‘No’ Steve said with pretend casualness. ‘I’m not scared’
‘Well then just apologize’ Cone prompted. Steve sighed.




‘Where am I?’ asked Deryck as he entered his house.
‘What?’ Avril looked horrified. Deryck started to laugh at his wife.
‘I’m kidding’ he said, giggling.
‘Don’t do that!’ Avril obviously, didn’t seem to be amused. She hauled one of Deryck’s bags without saying a word.
‘Hey…I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…’ said Deryck but Avril interrupted.
‘I’ve been through enough pain okay…now is not the time to play with me like that’ She leaped on the flight of stairs, still not looking at her husband. Deryck held her by the wrist. ‘Sorry’ he said with a remorseful look.
Avril started to laugh abruptly.
‘Sucker!’ she bellowed. ‘Got you!’
‘You little…’
Avril ran up leaving Deryck with his unfinished words. ‘I’ll get you!’ he shouted and ran up leaping three steps at a time.
‘Be careful with your steps’ Avril said as she reached for the door knob to their room. Deryck was already a few steps behind her before she swung the door close behind her.
‘Ouch!’ Deryck cried. Worried, Avril opened the door to check on him. Deryck darted in hugging Avril by her waist and rammed her onto the bed. ‘Now I got you!’ he shrieked.
Avril laughed as Deryck pinned her on the bed.
‘Okay okay you got me. Now let me go you’re heavy’ she said, breathing heavily.
‘I’m not letting go of you’ said Deryck, pressing down Avril’s arms.
‘Let me go!’ she laughed.
‘Never’ said Deryck and kissed Avril slightly on the lips.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss but suddenly pushed him back.
‘Oh my god! You’re bleeding!’ Avril prompted. Deryck touched his nose and said ‘Shit!’.
Avril stood up and pushed him onto the bed. He sat with his head facing upward.
‘Just sit still, I’ll get the ice pack and towel’ said Avril and bolted out.
‘Okay…’ said Deryck, staring at the ceiling with one finger across his nose.
Avril came back with a blue ice bag in one hand and a green towel in the other.
‘Don’t move’ she said and pressed the ice pack on Deryck’s nose. ‘Don’t lie down, hold this ice pack tightly’.
Deryck moaned and winced. Avril sat beside him and wiped the blood stain on his fingers and cheek.
‘You should rest’ she said sympathetically. ‘But don’t lie down yet’
‘I’m so tired of resting’ he grunted.

Buzzer. Avril peered out the window.
‘It’s Cone and Steve’ she said. Deryck lied down and threw a pillow on his face. ‘Maybe I do need some rest’ he said.
‘Don’t lie down! Sit up straight’ Avril instructed.
‘You sound like a nurse’ Deryck snickered.
Avril chuckled and kissed him on the cheek before she ran down. She swung the front door open and saw Steve, arms stuck to his side and smiling uneasily.
