Avril’s POV “Are you going to let Steve take care of Anne? STEEEEEEEEEEEVE? Seriously Avril!” Michelle almost screams to me at the phone. “He offered to be with her… he said he is nice with kids… and he is her godfather, Michelle…” I try to calm her down, although, I’m a little worried about letting my baby with him too. “But he is Steve! He’ll probably give her beer when she starts to cry!” She says on the other side of the line. “I wish I was there to be with her.” “Don’t make things worse, please… it’s already too hard for me to leave her.” I say with a sad voice. “Deryck wants to hang out a little… he also needs me. You know… we still didn’t have any time alone since she was born. Not really quality time alone.” “I know… sorry… I bet it’s really difficult to take care of a young baby.” Michelle says. She and Mom helped us a lot while we were on Canada, but since we moved back to LA, it’s been just me and Deryck taking care of Anne, waking up every three hours to breastfeed or to change diapers. I’m not complaining about it, not at all. I love to take care of my daughter, I really do, but sometimes it makes us tired, and when we have some free time, all we want to do is take a rest. “It is, but it’s also amazing.” I sigh and look at my watch. “Mi, I’ve gotta go. Deryck is finishing Anne’s bath and I need to be ready when he comes back. I love you, bye.” “I love you too, sis. Have a nice night!” She says and we hang up. I open my wardrobe and try to decide what to wear. I’m already back to my weight before the pregnancy and I want to wear something Deryck would enjoy. I pick up the black dress he gave me on Christmas, it’s short and I never wore it before. I try and it fits perfectly. I’m about to go to the bathroom to finish my make up when I hear Deryck and a happy Anne entering the room. “Look who is already ready to have a super fun night with Uncle Steve.” Deryck says putting Anne on our bed. She picks one of my lip-gloss and start to stare at it trying to figure out what the hell that is. Deryck and I laugh when we see her face. She is so cute. Deryck dressed her on the yellow pants and white shirt; she is also wearing the bunny shoes and has a yellow headband on her head. I hold her and give a kiss on her head. It smells so good. “You look so beautiful, sweetie. I bet Uncle Steve had never hanged out with such a pretty girl like you.” I say to her and then look at Deryck. “I always knew you were really great at taking someone’s clothes off, babe, but I’m really impressed how good you are at dressing them.” “I’m a man full of talents, babe.” He says giving me a naughty look. I laugh. “Oh, yeah, I know…” I say rolling my eyes joking. “Now, stay with her a little more, I just need to finish my make up. 5 minutes.” I say. “Go with daddy, Annie.” “I just need to change my shirt after you are done, this little one gave me a bath while I was giving her a bath.” He says looking at Anne. “Tell mommy how you threw water on poor daddy, tell her.” He says tickling her. She laughs. “She really has fun on the bath. I should have warned you how much she likes to play with the water.” I say smiling. Then I realize how the bathroom must be right now. I look at Deryck seriously. “I hope you dried the floor.” He looks at me, and then at Anne. “I guess we are in trouble…” He whispers in her ear. “Of course I dried. Do you think I would let it all wet?” He gasps and then turns around. “We’ll be back soon. Let’s go, An.” I shake by head and laugh when he leaves the room with Anne on his arms. He is really a great father. When I finish my make up and I’m walking downstairs I hear the door bell. “I got it!” Deryck screams and goes to the door. “Hello, buddy!” Steve says entering the room and giving Deryck a hug. “See? Exactly 8 PM!” He winks then she takes Anne from Deryck’s arms. “How is the most beautiful little girl doing tonight?” He asks her in a sweet voice. “You know what I brought????? Cinderella!” He almost yells when he says the last word, like Cinderella was lottery award. Deryck and I laugh. I try to imagine Steve watching Cinderella and it makes me laugh even harder. Anne will probably sleep in the first five minutes of the movie, but it’s so nice that he is trying. “I’m ready.” I say to Deryck. “Hey, Steve!” “Hey Av! Wow, you look hot!” He says when he looks at me. “Owwwwwww! Do you realize you were talking about my wife? In front of me?” Deryck says pretending he is mad. I laugh. “What can I do, dude? She really is!” He says. “Thanks, Steve.” I say smiling. “Yeah, I know she really is. You look amazing, babe.” He says and gives me a kiss. “I’m going to change my shirt. I’ll be right back.” “Ok.” I say and take Anne from Steve’s arms. “Hey, princess.” I start to when I sit on the couch and put her on my lap. “Mommy and Daddy are going to leave for a while and you are going to stay with Uncle Steve, okay?” She stares at me with her big blue eyes. “So, be a nice girl. We’ll be back before you notice.” “I’m ready. Let’s go, Av?” Deryck says. “Ok.” I say. I kiss Anne’s forehead and Steve holds her again. “I love you, baby. We’ll be back soon.” I say with my voice starting to fail. “Bye, Anne, don’t make Uncle Steve go crazy.” Deryck says giving her a kiss. “Just a little.” He whispers in her ear. “Take care of her.” He says to Steve. “With my life.” Steve says. “Let’s go.” Deryck says wrapping his arms around my waist. When we are walking toward the doors I hear one of Anne’s noises and I look at her. She is on Steve’s arms looking at us with a pouting face and reaching her little arms out to us. Oh my God. I can’t go. I can’t leave her. “Let’s go, Av… she’ll be fine.” Deryck whispers in my ears and opens the door. I start to walk outside. “She will.” I say with a weak voice and a tear running from my eyes. Why is this so difficult? “She will.” I repeat. The thing is: I don’t know is if I will. ____________________________ Another super long update...  And with this one I got 100 pages on Word! How crazy is that? I never thought it would be so long... please, comment!
