So... here it is...NEW AND LAST UPDATE:

Avril’s POV

“So, did you talk to him?” Deryck asks me when I come back from the restroom. He has a mysterious smile on his face and I don’t know what that means. He pulls the chair so I can sit. He is such a gentleman.

“Yeah! He said everything is perfect, she had already eaten and they watched Cinderella.” I laugh imagining the scene. “Can you believe that? Steve watching Cinderella!”

Deryck laughs too.

“Oh… we should record it and put on YouTube. I bet it would be a big hit.” He laughs at his idea. “We should hide a camera next time.”

I narrow my eyes at him.

“Are we going to leave Anne with him again?”

“Why not? It seems like he is doing a pretty good job as a nanny.” Deryck says. “We should also buy him an uniform.” He says seriously. I giggle.

“You are so mean! He is doing us a favor!” I hit him playfully. “Can it be pink?” I whisper narrowing my eyes and smiling. He laughs.

“Sure! I think it will match his cheeks, you know, when he’ll be wearing that.” He jokes.

A slow song starts to play. Deryck looks at me with passionate eyes. He stands up and gets down on his knees. I open a big smile. What is he doing?

“Babe, we are already married… I mean, if you didn’t realize that-” I joke showing him my ring.

“May I have the pleasure of this dance, Mrs. Whibley?” He asks kissing my hands. I look at his face, his deep eyes staring at me, full of love, and the smile, the big smile that makes his dimples show up, the dimples that I love and that Anne inherited from him.

“Sure.” I smirk and we walk hand by hand to the dance floor.

We start to dance and he pulls me closer to him, our bodies leaning on each others. I lay my head on his shoulders and close my eyes, just enjoying the moment and smelling his essence. He wraps his arms around waist and starts to rub my back. It feels so good. I don’t want this moment to ever end; I just want to stay here, in his arms. I keep my eyes closed till the moment a very special song for me starts to play. Iris. I open my eyes surprised and look at him.

“Are you hearing that? That’s Iris!” I exclaim excitedly. “This is such a big coincidence! You know… the first time we go out after, like, a lot of months, and we are here, dancing, and it starts to play… I think it’s fate-” I stop talking when I look at his face. Deryck has a smile on his face, the same one he had when he did something special for me and doesn’t want me to know it. I narrow my eyes and look into his eyes.

“You asked them to play it while I was talking to Steve!” He smiles and nods his head.

“Maybe… but I still prefer to believe it’s fate.” He winks. “Fate wants us to always be together. We are meant to be together.” He kisses me softly, but it soon turns into a passionate kiss. We only stop it because we need to breathe. “Come on, let’s dance.” He pulls me closer to him again.

“I love you.” I whisper on his ears.

“Not half as much as I love you.” He whispers back.





“Awwwwwwww… look at them!” I exclaim when we enter Anne’s room. She is sleeping peacefully on her crib, holding Steve’s finger on her little hand. He is sleeping on the floor, next to the crib, using her teddy bear as a pillow.

“Poor Steve, he is going to need a wheelchair tomorrow morning when he wakes up, he should remember he is not eighteen anymore.” Deryck jokes.

“He really took good care of her… look at her face, she is smiling.” I say coming closer to the crib. Anne looks so cute when she smiles, even during her sleep.

“Of course she should be happy. Uncle Steve watched Cinderella with her.” Deryck says smiling too.

“You should go to bed, babe, you look tired.” He says kissing my forehead. “I’ll wake up Steve and tell him to go to his bed. He is almost as cranky as you when someone wakes him up, but don’t worry, I can take care of it.”

“Okay. I am really tired. Last night I almost didn’t sleep.” I yawn. “I’ll wait for you.” I kiss Anne’s forehead and gives Deryck a quick kiss.


When Deryck enters our bedroom I am already sleeping. I tried to wait for him, but tiredness won me. I feel his arms hugging me and a kiss on my head.

“Good night, babe.” He whispers.

“Good night.” I whisper back.





Two hours after I fell asleep I’m awake by Anne’s cry on the baby monitor. I’m about to stand up when I feel Deryck’s hand on my shoulders.

“Don’t worry, I’ll go. Come back to sleep.” He says lowly and turns the baby monitor off so it won’t wake me up again. He leaves the room and I open my eyes to look at the clock. 4 AM. That he can’t handle. Breastfeed time. I rub my eyes and walks towards her room but I stop at the door when I see Deryck with her on his arms.

“Hey, princess, what’s wrong?” He asks her softly. “I’ve already checked and your diaper is clean and you don’t look like you have colic.” He holds her closer to his chest and starts to cuddle. “An, please, give daddy a hint… I don’t want to wake your mommy up… she is really tired, you know, she deserve some sleep, so if I can help you…” She continues to cry, her bottom lip already shaking. “Aw, baby… please, stop crying, you know it breaks my heart…” He kisses her forehead.

“Sorry, babe, but this you can’t handle.” I say smiling at them and he almost jumps on the armchair.

“Oh my God! You startled me! I didn’t see you there.” He says. “So, what’s wrong with her? I can’t figure out…” He asks looking at her sadly.

“She wants the only thing you can’t give her.” I say still smiling and coming closer to them. He looks at me curiously.

“Boobs.” I say pointing at my chest.

“Oh sure, how could I forget that…” He smiles. I sit on the armchair and he lays her on my arms. “That’s okay, Annie, mommy is already here…” He whispers on her ear. The cry stops immediately at the moment she gets what she wants. This girl really likes to eat. No wonder she is that chubby.

“Sorry for not having boobs.” Deryck says lowly.

“You would look really weird with boobs.” I giggle.

“Oh yeah…” He says thoughtfully. “That’s true.”

He sits next to me, wrapping his arms around my neck and stroking my hair.

“Oh, I think she fell asleep.” I say after she stops sucking.

“Yeah… I think she did.” He says looking at her. “She is so cute, look at her… she looks just like a little angel.”

“She does.” I say smiling. “Who would think when we started dating that five years after we would end up getting married and having a daughter? That’s crazy how things change in five years… we were two crazy teenagers back then and look at us now, two responsible adults and parents.”

“I think I haven’t found true happiness until I met you. I feel more than lucky for finding my soul mate so yearly in my life.” He smiles. “You and Anne can make me smile just to look at you, just to think about you. I love you more than anything in the world, more than my life. You are my life” He says looking into my eyes. “And, Av, it’s not the end. It’s just the beginning.” He smiles and kisses me.

You know what? He is totally right. It’s just the beginning.
