Two Weeks later.

Deryck’s POV

“Yeah! That sounds so cool!” I hear Avril talking to someone on the phone. “Okay, I’ll talk to Deryck and then I call you back, okay? Bye.”

“Who was on the phone?” I ask her when she hangs up the phone.

“It was Terry. Guess what?!” she asks me excitedly.

“What?” I have no idea what she is talking about.

“Remember that Ashton Kutcher’s tv show, Punk’d?”

“Of course I do, how could I forget? You cried a lot on that show,” I say, laughing when I remember the part Avril tries to hold the car which is falling.

“Stop laughing! If it was you who were there I’m sure you would cry too! I mean, a car exploded and I thought it was my fault! That’s not something to laugh about, you know. And the guy said because of me, he couldn’t work anymore,” Avril explains.

“But it was funny, anyway,” I added.

“I know, after I discovered it was a joke and watched it I laughed too. Anyway, now Ashton is producing a new TV show for E!, and they want us in the first episode!” she says excitedly.

“That’s nice, but what is it about?” I ask. She forgot to tell me that little detail.

“It almost the same thing as Punk’d, but instead of the celebrities being punk’d, we are going to play a joke with the paparazzi,” she says with a big smile on her face. I know how much she hates the paparazzi, and I also know my wife loves to joke around, so, I couldn’t disagree with her.

“That sounds funny! When is it going to be shot?” I ask. I’m going to go on tour February 19th, and it’s next week.

“February 18th, Terry told them it should be shot before 19th,” she answers.

“Okay… let’s do it!” I agree.

“Yay! This is going to be a little revenge on them. Thanks, Der,” she says and gives me a hug.


February 18th

We arrived early on E! studio so we could organize and choose what joke we were going to do. Avril suggested doing something about the pregnancy rumors, which were up again and they make that up at least once a year.

So, we decided to go to Robertson Blvd., a street full of paparazzi, and go to baby stores and do some shopping. Avril would be wearing a fake baby bump and some friends would come with us.
I knew that would be some paparazzi and they would be crazy when see us shopping in baby stores, but not THAT crazy. There were 20 or more, and they took a zillion pictures of us, and people were looking at Avril and saying “Watch up for the baby! Watch up for the baby!” But we had a lot of fun, and it’s insane how the rumors begin and 5 minutes later they are everywhere. When we arrived home I turn on the computer and every gossip site had pictures of us shopping and confirming the pregnancy. I hope that this new TV show will teach people to not believe everything they read.



Now Avril is in the shower and I’m packing my luggage. I’m leaving tomorrow.

“That was so funny, wasn’t it?”- She asks me leaving the bathroom drying her hair with the towel.

“It was, but you know we’ll have questions about babies in every interview. People now are sure we are having a baby,” I say. I have to admit that when I saw Avril with that little bump and we were shopping I felt something I have never felt before. I know it is weird but I wanted it was really true. Me and Av having a baby. I always think I would never be ready to be a father, but now I’m sure I am. And I want to, but I know Avril wouldn’t agree with that, not with the tour coming and her being only 23.

“You know what, babe? You looked so beautiful with that bump,” I say without thinking.

“What? What are you trying to say?” She asks me, confused.

“Maybe having a baby wouldn’t be that bad,” I say.

“Oh, honey… I don’t think it’s the best time for that… We agreed to talk about it, like, 5 years from now,” she says.

“I know… but don’t you want to have a baby with me?” Oh My God! Can’t I keep my mouth shut? This is NOT the best time to have a baby, Deryck. You know that.

“Of course I want to! I would love to have our babies! But not now, we both are going on tour this moment and I’m only 23. I think we should wait.” She finishes and I know she is right.

“Okay, you’re right. Let’s not talk about it anymore. I don’t even know why I said that. I love you,” I say, pulling her and giving her a kiss.

“I love you, too,” she says, and kisses me back. “And someday, I promise you we will have our kids.”
