“Let’s not talk about that anymore, it wasn’t your fault and there are lots of great things happening in our lives now.” I say. I really want to forget that day.

“You’re right. But… are you ok with the pregnancy thing? I mean… I know you wanted to wait…” He says worried.

“I knew I said I wanted to wait… but now it had happened I’m thrilled.” I say smiling. “Really… I’m really glad we had been drunk that night and I forgot my pills. This is the best hangover ever!”

“I’m so happy about it! It will make our lives even more perfect. Our baby. Doesn’t it sound awesome?” He says. He can’t stop smiling, so can’t I. “Oh! So did you faint that day because of the pregnancy?!” He remembers.

“Yep, actually, that was the day I found out I was pregnant.” I explain.

“God… you can really keep a secret. Who else does know?” He asks.

“Only Michelle, I didn’t tell anybody else… I thought you deserve to know first than anyone. Michelle was saying I was pregnant about a week before I really found out.” I smile remembering her saying I was and I insisting that was impossible. “She was really great with me all this time. I don’t know what would I do if she wasn’t here with me while you were away… wait…” I remember suddenly. “Did she help you to get in here yesterday?” Deryck didn’t have a bus key, his key was with her while he was traveling and she was here with me.

“Yes…” He nods “But, please, don’t be mad at her... she was trying to help…” He begs me.

“How could I be mad at her?” I laugh. “Because of her you’re here with me. I need to thank her! By the way, she is probably crazy out there wanting to know what happened…and I think we should go and have breakfast. I’m starving!”

“You’re right, and you really should eat. I want a chubby baby!” He jokes and then rubs my belly, which is still flat, by the way. He looks down and starts to talk with it. “Hey baby, this is your father here… I want to tell you I’m really happy that you exist, and that I can’t wait to see you, but we still have to wait some months to meet each other. Till then you’ll live in a nice, warm and calm place. Oh, please…be a nice kid and don’t kick your mommy so much. If your kick is strong as hers, it’s going to hurt. I love you.” I laugh. He is so cute. “Do you think it can hear me?” He asks raising his head to look at me.

“Of course it can! And if it depends on how much I’m eating, like Michelle likes to say, it’s going to be a baby elephant!” I say and we both laugh. “I can imagine how much it’s going to hurt when I get in labor.” I say. Wow. I didn’t think about the labor yet. It’s really scary.

“Don’t worry, babe. Everything is going to be alright. I’ll be by your side all the time.” He says taking my hand and I smile.

Yes, everything is going to be great.
