Avril’s POV

I’m going to meet Deryck and Michelle at the bus after the show. We already organized our luggage and the flight is scheduled to leave one hour after the show ends. We will need to run to get there on time. Michelle called Mom earlier and said she would take a cab to go home, so it isn’t necessary she goes to pick her. Mom found that a little weird but didn’t insist.



I’m doing meet and greet when a tiny Asian girl wearing pigtails enters the room.

“Hi!” She says excited and I smile. She is carrying two teddy bears and is really tiny, even shorter than me. It makes me feel great; it’s really difficult to find someone shorter than me. I know she is a kid and probably will be taller than me in a few years, but it’s fine anyway.

“Hi! Nice to meet you.” I say and she opens a big smile. I can see that she is a bit nervous.

“Nice to meet you too!” She exclaims. “This is for you.” She gives me the teddy bears. One of them is a koala wearing red pants, blue shirt and holding a guitar. The other one is a bear all dressed in pink. Both of them are wearing converses. I smile. “This one is Deryck.” She says pointing at the koala, and when she pushes his belly he starts to sing With Me. I start to laugh. This is so funny! “And this one is you.” She smiles and push the bear’s belly and it starts to sing When You’re Gone.

“Oh my Gosh! These are so cute! I love them! Thank you!” I say. I really like them! It’s so amazing how creative the fans are, and I like when they bring me gifts that I know mean something. “I think Deryck is gonna like them too!” I say.

“I’m glad you like them.” She says happily.

When we are going to take the picture, she asks me:

“Can you make a funny face?” I’m so use to take pictures smiling, and sometimes my smile isn’t the most natural in the world, but it sounds really funny.

“Sure.” I laugh and them we take a picture. We both are showing our tongues and making the heavy metal sign with the hands. That’s a cool picture.

“Bye, Avril!” She says. I give her a hug and she leaves the room. That is a nice girl. I like her.


The show was awesome, and the crowd looked like they were really having fun, what makes me so happy. I arrived a little late at the bus and Deryck and Michelle were already ready to go.

“Quickly, Av, we have 40 minutes to be there or we’ll lose the flight.” Deryck says.

“Can I take a shower at least? I really need one.” I ask. I really like to take a shower after the shows.

“If you can do it while I put the luggage in the cab, yes.” He says and I nod.

I took the fastest shower in my life, and six minutes after that I was already in the cab with Michelle and Deryck.

We enter the plane five minutes before it flies.

“We did it.” I say when we sit on our seats. “Napanee, here we go!”
