My "beta-reader" Leila is not on line now, but as soon as she give me the reviewed update I correct here.

Here it is:

Avril’s POV

Deryck is upstairs packing his bags and I’m lying on the couch, trying my best to not cry. He is going on tour today and I’m going too, in about 3 weeks. It means we are going to play concerts around the world almost every night for the next 6 months. While I am in US he is in Japan, and things like that. I don’t know how I’ll
survive without seeing him all those months. It breaks my heart just thinking about it. We haven’t stayed that far away from each other since we got married. My last tour finished in the end of 2005, so we were together all the time since then.

“So, that’s it. Everything is ready and Steve is coming to pick me in about 10 minutes.” Deryck says to me, putting the luggage on the floor.

“Did you take everything? Toothbrush? Underwear? Shoes?” I check.

“Yes, ma’am, we checked everything last night before dinner.” We decided to spend that last night together at home. I made the dinner and then we watched some movies and drank some wine. The night ended great.

“I can’t believe you’re leaving.” I hug him tightly and I can’t take the tears anymore.

“Aw, babe, please, don’t make it worse…,” he says, laying my head on his shoulders and wrapping his hand around my waist. I’m crying so much. And I can’t stop it.

“I’m gonna miss you so much.” I’m hugging him so tightly that I’m afraid I’m hurting him. I’m acting like he’s going to war and I’m never going to see him again, but I can’t help it. 6 months is a long time.

“I’m gonna miss you too, but we have to be strong. This is our job. We have to do this, and we always knew it was going to happen. Don’t forget I’m going to meet you in two weeks at your concert in Victoria. You must think of all those people who are dying to see you on stage and me and my band too.” He tries to make things better by giving me a kiss on my head.

“Okay, I’m strong, and it’s not like we’re never going to see each other again, is it?” I say, feeling more calm now.

“Of course not. I would never let that happen. So, please, stop crying or I’ll cry too, and I don’t look really nice when I’m crying, you know…please, Av, I hate to see you like this,” he says, running his thumb under my eyes and drying my tears.

“Will you call me every day?” I ask him, even though I already know the answer.

“Not every day, every hour. I promise,” he says, and I give him a shy smile. It’s the best I can do right now.
We hear a car stopping outside the house. Deryck looked out the window.

“It’s Steve.” He gives me a sad look. “I’ve got to go.”

I hug him again and give him another kiss, and we stay here kissing for several minutes and only stop when we heard Steve honking and screaming “Come on, dude, we’re going to be late!”.

“I love you, babe. I’ll call you as soon as I get off the plane.” Deryck says, giving me one last kiss.

“I love you, too! And please, be careful.” I say, almost crying again. When he leaves and closes the door, the tears come out even harder than before.

It’s almost midnight now and I’ve finally stopped crying. I watched some old Friends episodes and I even laughed a little.

I put my pajamas on and go to bed.
God… it’s really awful sleeping alone on this king size bed. I feel even smaller. I hug Deryck’s pillow and try to sleep. It’s not easy, I have to say.
