Deryck’s POV

“You have to wake up, sweetheart.” I hear Judy talking to Avril. She is sitting next to her bed. Avril has been in coma for seven days now, and it was the worst week of my life. She didn’t get any worse, she didn’t get any better. She is just in the same condition. I left the hospital for a while to pick some clothes at the hotel and Judy stayed here with her. She didn’t see that I arrived and I stay at the door just looking at them, I don’t want to break this moment. “You are strong, you’ve always been. Remember that day when you were five years old and you and Matt were playing at your uncle’s farm and you fell from the tree? You hit your head on the floor and the doctors were sure you wouldn’t survive, and then you wake up and surprised everyone.” She run her fingers through Avril’s hair and I see that she is crying. “Now you are older, you are stronger and you have so many people that love you and are crazy because you are like this. You have me, your dad, your siblings, you have Deryck, you have your fans. And you have this baby who needs so much her mother.” Now she is crying hard. “So, please, Avie… don’t give up… we need you…”

I walk into the room and I give Judy a tightly hug.

“She will be ok… I know she will.” I whisper in her year. I hear the door being opened.

“Mr. Whibley, can you please come here for a moment?” Dr. Collins asks me and I leave the room to talk to him.

“Is there something wrong, Doctor?” I ask worried.

“Mr. Whibley, I told you this first week would be important for her recuperation, but since her condition didn’t change, I’m afraid she won’t recuperate anymore… people already come back from longer comas before, but usually they have problems, sometimes they can’t talk, or walk, or they doesn’t remember anything. I’m sorry for telling you this, but I want you to be prepared.” He says sadly.

No… she will recuperate. I know she will. She can’t live like a vegetable. Not her… not Avril…

“Thank you, Dr. Collins.” I say weakly and come back to the room.

“I’ll have lunch, stay with her.” Judy says drying her tears and then leaves the room.

I look at Avril, so beautiful and so young. She can’t stay like this. She can’t.

“Avril, you have to listen to me.” I start to say and hold her hand. “You must wake up. Time is finishing, babe… and I… I can’t leave without you… I just can’t, Av… You’re the love of my life, you’re my soul mate… and my life will end if I don’t have you anymore… so please… make an effort… I know you can do it… open your eyes… please…” I lean my body against her and give a soft kiss on her lips. Tears run from my eyes. God, how much I miss kissing her… how much I miss feeling her body against mine.

I lean my head on her chest and stay like that for a moment, crying, just hearing her heart beats and with my hand on her bump.

“Deryck… Deryck…. the baby…. Please…” I hear a weak and low voice calling me.
