New Update:

Avril’s POV

“So, how are you?” Mary opens the door slowly and asks lowly. Deryck and I are still in the bed, looking amazed at Anne, who is sleeping in my arms.

“Amazing, it’s like a dream. I can’t believe she is really here.” I say smiling. It’s all so perfect, my daughter is perfect and I have the best husband in the world. What more could I ask for?

“That’s good, but you need to take a rest, Avril, it was a long night for you and soon that little one there will be screaming wanting to be feed, and you need to be ready for that.” Mary says softly. “I’ll take care of her, and I bet Deryck won’t leave her any minute.” She winks at him, who smiles.

“Mary is right, babe. You need to sleep.” Deryck says and lean down to kiss my head.

“I don’t want to leave her…” I say looking at the baby. She is so beautiful and sweet; I just want to stay with her like this forever.

“You still have the rest of your life to be with her.” Mary says. “She needs her mommy to be healthy to take care of her, so, sleep time, Avril.”

I look at her and nod sadly. I kiss Anne’s head and give her to Deryck.

“Good night.” He says and gives me a kiss. I lean my head on the pillow and now I can feel how tired I am. This was really a long night. A long, painful, desperate night. But with a perfect ending.
