All the others are like... nothing. | I'm not claiming to be perfect, I'm just being honest. Infact, I'm not perfect and I don't know everything. There's just a truth to that. I never even said I was good.
Besides, those words basically came right out my my English teachers mouth. I'm just sharing them with you guys.
And, um, Lewis, I'm not sure whether that should be taken as a compliment lmfao. Just know that you're grammar isn't really amazing. I mean, not to be mean or anything, you just made it sound like you were super good with grammar and it was your position or something to hand out compliments. Not that you're saying that, it just came out wrong. Idk, your grammar isn't perfect all the time either, and it's not like you're always in a position to hand out advice. Not that I always am, just... yeah.
But I think I'm making an ass out of myself. Sorry. I'll just shut up.

Sounds like you're the great writer and no one else... and you aren't even writing anything at the moment.
And I have to disagree with you. I read almost all the fan fictions here in Bandaids, and I think there are some new ones really great, way better than the old ones. Of course there are some that I don't like, but there are some people who like. That's ok. We don't have to like everything, but we have to respect the others opinion.
A lot of people who wrote before is writing now another story, and almost all of them is getting really better. |

They strike me as repetitive, and some of them are lacking important qualities that stories need in order to be successful, such as character development, different conflicts, descriptive-ness, etc. etc. I'm sorry, but I'm entitled to this opinion. I'm not saying anyone is bad, nor am I being insulting. I'm sorry if you take it that way, but I'm not saying it that way and there's not much I can do about you being insulted. I'm just trying to help people improve. It doesn't mean that they're bad, it just means they need help in certain areas. And this surely isn't everyone, but everyone does have room for improvement. Everyone, even people who have been published.
And I'm not claiming to be an amazing writer, I'm giving advice. Again, it's YOU who is assuming that I'm claiming these things when I never said them, or even tried to imply them. I'm just giving advice, so I'm sorry you're taking it the wrong way.
I'll be honest, I do think I'm good. I'll be blunt. I think I'm a pretty good writer, and I've been hearing that from other people my whole life. You may disagree, but you have nothing to base that on. I'm not writing anything because I'm busy, and my story probably wouldn't get many replies. It never seems to, since it's different than the other stories and people generally like to stick with the same few stories.

Also, even though I know you're nice, Amy, some of the things you're posting in this thread CAN hurt people. I know I shouldn't take these things to heart because I'm sure I need to improve plenty of things, and yet I get a feeling of self-dissatisfaction when I read this thread. I feel like the work that I've put into my writing for years hasn't been worth it, because it obviously displeased you enough to open a thread telling everyone how boring their stories are. I'm probably coming off as whiny and a bit full of myself, but that's how I feel.
I'd suggest this thread be closed, but then everyone would peg me as a bitch, so...

We are not professionals, and we try to make nice things, and it's really hard for some people, like me, to write in another language. I know I could be a lot better if I was writing in my first language, but well, I'm not.
Anyway... I try my best. And people like my story and the other stories. I think that is what really matters. We are here to have fun, not to win a literature prize. |

of course everybody has a different view on writing/ reading and even life. But that doesn't take away that you can't share what you think of some things. So advises were even usefull to me. I know I have a dad grammar and spelling, which I am working on, but English is my 3th language and I have dyslexia so I can't help it. Other then that I found it very intresting to read some of the views from other people. Since all I had until now was mine view and the view of Morenor
Don't take it all bad and wrong. This can be use full to people.
