I stood in front of the window while the rain was streaming down. What a day, what a night I sighed. I still hadn’t slept while it was around 5 in the morning. It would get light in a few hours. The streets were empty and cold. Just a few cats crossing the streets was all there was. When I was about to close the curtain I noticed someone standing on the road. I just took me one second to know who it was. The face I remembered by heart. Avril stood in the middle of the cross road. Starring at the hotel I was in. She hadn’t noticed me yet. At least that was what I thought. I could hardly see her eyes in the dark through the rain. I just stood there behind the window starring at her, looking into her eyes. Then she noticed me. I couldn’t hardly see her. But I just felt she was looking at me. She stood there black starring a few feet into the air with her head in her neck. I didn’t had to think twice about what I had to do. I rushed myself to the door and ran through the hallway. I had no time to close the door or even get my jacket. In my shirt and boxer short I ran down the stairs. With almost falling a few times I made it to the reception. Ran straight to the front door and stepped outside. Only then I noticed what kind of moron I really was. The rain got me totally wet in only a few seconds. Hundred feet away from me was Avril standing, looking black at me. Rain was streaming down her face, or were it tears? Even my face was covered with rain or tears I couldn’t find out. All I felt was weak and tired. We just stood there, with hundred feet between us. Rain streaming down together with tears and not knowing what to do.
