well I thought lets give them some cute updates, since the court updates are comming

In front of me, the judge and some man on an other table. On my left Avril, next the her our lawyer. On my right a few feet away from us, Petra, the head of Child Care New York and to him there lawyer. Some were on the side the jury, which were two women and two men. For about a month we had lived to this very moment and now that I finally sat here….I couldn’t wait to run out. The judge had been talking for about ten minutes and we were all under ode. Jason had old us the remain calm, whatever happened. First it was up to Child Cares side. Petra sat down next to the judge and her lawyer stood up. And this was were it all begin.

‘’Why did you take Avril and Lucca into your house?’’ He asked.

‘’Because Child Care felt that she was unable to take care of Lucca on her own.’’

‘’Why did Child Care felt she was un able to take care of him?’’

‘’Because she is suffering from depression for a long time, had killed her unborn child. We thought it was the best to be a step a head before something could happen to Lucca.’’

The judge pulled up his hand and made Jason stop, then he took over.

‘’Today I want to hear why they are un able to take care of them now. Do you still think she is a danger to him?’’

‘’Yes, depression is a very bad disease. You never know what these people do.’’

Her lawyer took it over.

‘’In the past Avril and Deryck never had the role model relationship. It’s very unstable and they are only back together since a month. Next to that they are both un able to control themselves. When Deryck went to jail…..it all turned out that Avril was unable to handle it. The change that Avril will get a fall back is pretty big. And I am not even talking about Deryck. Years ago he had been dealing drugs, who can tell if what happened five years ago, which was as he called ‘’a mistake’’ happens again. And then, what will it do to Lucca.’’

‘’This hole experience had been traumatising for Lucca. All he need is a stable home were he can grow up. Child Care is there to give him a stable home.’’ Petra continued. I could shoot her right now.

‘’ Why I would give Lucca to Child Care.’’ The judge asked.

‘’Every child has the right to grow up in a stable family. Of course he must see his parents. But what is most important is the trust. He doesn’t even know his own father, he never even asked about his father. The change that something goes wrong and runs out of control, like happened five years ago is pretty big. Lucca will only get the victim of it.’’

I sighed, I didn’t even dare to look at Avril. What more did we had to say? It was all true, next to the fact that whatever would happen I would never be that stupid to do it again.

Jason stood up and Avril sat down next to the judge. But the judge held up his hand.

‘’Give me one reason why he should stay in your family.’’ He said. Now I was getting angry, how could he do this?! He did listen to all of the crap Petra told, but he want in just a few little lines to hear from Avril why we should take him home.’ Scarred I looked at Avril. We had only one chance. One chance to get our son back.

‘’We did many things wrong, we made many foolish steps. But her is our child, our baby. In the past five years we both had learnt so much. About live, about us and about what we want. All we want is our son, it’s our child. Maybe we don’t look as the right couple, the right family. But no one is. All we do is try our best. What we learnt is that when it all feels like falling, we need someone to catch us. To me that person is Deryck and I know he feels the same about me. And I understand Petra saying that we might go back to our old habit. But I know we wouldn’t. We wouldn’t do anything to hurt him, or make him the victim. He is our son and we love him. And I think that no one should be aloud to take the love between parents and children away.’’
